My area is FULL of lumber, My Girlfriends dad is a 3 generation Logger, and has all the equipment. His family actually owns an entire mountain side. Has the Mill but doesn't have a kilm, but he said you let the boards dry for over a year. He milled all the wood for his house 20 years ago...

it is very cool, the down fall is the maintence, when there is a stom and the wheel gets plugged up with **** then you have to go up there and clean it out, or if a pole goes down then you have to go strip a new tree and put it back yourself because no one else will do it. but when grid power...

up there it is a trade off, you have all the room you want but the nearest grocery store is over an hour away. that is why i want to be pretty independent up there. Austin
