I don't claim to be an expert but If i was doing for a wallhanger id wire brush it good and leave it alone. Gives it character. What about that little hammer head in the pic. :bounce: looks unique.
I to have been bitten by this Axe bug. About a year ago I found a sweet little Norland Tomhawk Head in an old boat I bought. Spent some time putting a new handle and shining it up. Now a year later I have nearly 200 axes, hatchets in my possession and still looking!!!! AXE ON! my friend...
Well I am jealous. I am also an Ax Junkie and I would give your $ back right now plus some. Love the old Kelly's great Ax's and piece of Americana that are getting harder and harder to find. Nice Finds.
ill keep an eye out way down here in Alabama. Not as many people down here DOE/DBE obsessed. I did find a billings doe the other day at one of my haunts paid a whopping quarter for it!
Thank You! I am actually in Alabama. But who knows? Right. I mean have you ever heard someone say when they retire they want to move North???? Scranton is the only thing I could imagine either out of the L. SCR? The A72 also has me puzzled. Haven't been able to dig up any other similar...

The older I get the more I appreciate things that have been around as long as I have (51 years). I am hatchet, axe enthusiast and love to restore them to working order. I thank everyone on this board for what they do to keep things around! Cheers to all us Vintage tool, and thing likers!

Well to be honest if I knew what it was and all the details I wouldn't be asking for help identifying it. IT has a stiff blade , no spring to it at all. The finish is brass, not really sure how one would test for exotic beryllium bronze????
Still looking for the identification. While I appreciate the comments from the Peanut Gallery, I'm just trying to find out what the tool is or was used for. I've been told a plethora of guesses but no pictures to match up with this one to identify. Like I said above everything from can opener...
Ok, I have a what is this tool? I purchase at a flea market but have been unable to find anything similar online. I thought some type of can opener, but nothing anywhere I can find looks like it does. Was told possibly made to open cans of Carbide? Brass wouldn't arc or spark? it has no sharp...
