Why Are Raised Panel Wrenches/Ratchets Bad?

Bought my Craftsman RP wrenches in 1984. They have worked on many a motorcycle, drag race car, and most recently Jeeps. Never failed me. I think they feel fine in my hands, but that's just me. I also like my USA made raised panel round head, fine-tooth ratchets.

    Ordering a Challenger lift....any suggestions/tips

C2 Turbo, My .02--I bought my CL10V3 almost 4 years ago. (I can't believe it has been that long, seems like yesterday. Just looked at the sticker on the side and it reads "Date Produced 05/2013".) I use it at home to work on my restored Olds 442--that is to say it doesn't get used much compared...

    cordless tools

I have to vote for Ryobi. I used a drill and a jigsaw yesterday as a matter of fact. As usual, performed as expected--no problems. Good prices don't hurt either.

    2 post lift thoughts please!

I love my Challenger. It's not cheap, but I believe they are the best. Also, mine is made in USA, and I like that.

    2 Post 10K Lift Comparisons

I have a Challenger made in USA. I previously had a used one at the old house and one that was purchased new and used in my body shop (former life) for ten years. When I was in the market for a 2 post for my current garage, I never considered anything else. The quality is that good. Now, I did...

    Which lift ?

I have a Challenger 10,000 lbs 2-post in my garage, it's not cheap, but it's manufactured in the USA.....and it shows. The quality is top notch, it runs as smooth as glass, and most importantly I trust it with my life. Sure, there are cheaper import lifts out there, but how many lifts do you...

    Home Depot Clearance Thread 2016

Leather LEATHERMAN "Wingman" multi-tool on sale, and made in the USA. Most places have it for $32. HD everyday price is a good deal at 29 and some change. Just checked two different stores and both have them now for $22. A great tool for the money, and less expensive than all the Chinese...

    Do not buy...

Cman screwdrivers? I can't speak of the new ones in the stores today, buy mine are over 25 years old and still going. Keep in mind, when I need a pry bar, I use a pry bar...not a screwdriver. Oh, and the new ones in the stores and my old ones were/are both made by Western Forge.

    Craftsman tools.

I own a lot of Cman USA stuff that has served me well for over 30 years. I'm old school though and don't expect the younger guys to understand that it is difficult to just give up on a tool and switch to a new brand. Most of my Cman was purchased in the early 90's. However, I have older stuff...

I Need a double flaring tool that is worth a ****!!!!!!

If you can find a USA Blue Point I recommend it. I have a USA Blue Point that I bought back around 1990. Used it probably 100 times or more on Bundy flex (steel). Works great, and never slips in the clamp. Is all the Blue Point stuff now import? If so, then totally different tool I would imagine.

    Craftsman screwdrivers/phillips?

Bought my CM red and blues in 1990. They made it though my drag racing phase, then my sport bike/roadracing phase, and now my Jeep phase. That is to say, I am not a professional, but my tools do get used. My screwdrivers all have "WF" on them, and the ones in the Sears near me also say "WF"...

    Grease or oil for ratchet?

My experience has been--the higher tooth count ratchets seem to work better with oil (3 in 1, Marvel Mystery) and lower tooth count, like a CM raised panel seem to work better with SuperLube. Just a rule of thumb. My .02
