Plumbing experts: will this work? (Sink drain question)

Illegal in every state. I'm not only a plumber, but plumbing inspector in a state that has the most stringent codes of any. I have never understood why anyone that has shop sinks, or bathrooms will willfully contaminate the soils on your property. Oils, grease, piss? Don't even try to tell us...

Help remove silicone caulk from brick

I watched a tile setter remove silicone from a water closet set that had been caulked to a floor. The flooring was a brick face type of tile. He used a small steam machine and soft bristle brush. Came right up.

    Hydronic Backflow Valve Location

One of the most misunderstood and important parts of any water based heating system is backflow protection. This can happen in two ways, loss of inlet pressure, or increased pressure from your system due to a control malfunction. For only systems containing water, a Watts 9D is considered a low...

    Schrader 20315 EZ sensor

Bought a tire and wheel package for a 2013 Fiesta and the shipper installed the above TPMS snap in's. Looked at some u-tubes about how to re-learn them to a push button start but? How can I have it done right? Don't always trust some of the DIY stuff on the tube, but is there a DIY option that I...

    Hard start kits?

Family next door changed out the HVAC system. We both have the same 30+ year old Lennox HS18 condensers. Got nosey when the Tech was pumping down the new system and he noticed my old unit was the same. Gave me the Super Boost SPP-6 out of the scrap unit. His thinking was that I should put it on...

    Protecting Romex?

Does the NEC require protection of horizontal Romex exposed between studs? Example- Unfinished space, romex between outlet boxes in a wall not covered with drywall, particle board, ect. The non metallic wire is in 1" holes at 1.5 from the face.

    Bathtub Drain Question:

My take from far away. Remove the face plate screws and pull up the stopper and linkage. If it is stuck, add some water down the tube, or WD. Flush out through the drain, and replace the trip lever with new. Generic trip levers work fine. If stuck, do not force it out!

    Toilet Model Number/Name?

Glad you found the paperwork. But, the Kohler # is on the "flange" that holds the tank to the bowl. Underside, use a mirror, on the left side, as I recall.

    Water Softener and Filter Advice

For those of you that use filters, with softeners. Every time water passes through a device, volume drops. (GPM). One filter reduces the GPM greatly, so I always installed two in parallel before the softener, with a tee and gauge on the inlet and outlet side. The pressure drop shows when filter...

    Water Softener and Filter Advice

RO water is extremely aggressive to metals, plastic tube is required on the outlet side. Think about this, the spot free rinse at some car washes is RO water.

tank clean on a ready heater?

Fellow next door moved out, and gave me a little 40.000btu salamander (ready heater), that he used with #2 diesel fuel rather than kerosene. The tank has some of what I call ****** from the #2 diesel. Any way to clean this out, other than tear down and car wash it out?
