    Warm box

An advantageof where I live is that it's dry. Little humidity year round. Thinking like I'm gonna get a metal file cabinet, add some insulation of some sort, add a bulb

    Warm box

It'll definitely get below freezing here and could sit there for a few days in the single digits. I'm liking the store it in AZ idea in winter. I could play golf for a few months then bring back all my stuff when I return. Brilliant! Considered a thermo cube but I think it needs to get to...

    Warm box

Or maybe a non-freeze box. Just don't wanna store caulking, sealants, etc in house each year to keep them from freezing. Maybe a metal box on wall with a 40-60 watt bulb in it. Anyone done anything like this?

Two Wired Controllers to One Electric Hoist

So everyone is male on this site? If you haven't heard from anyone the answer is yes. That would be a parallel connection where "either" up button runs it up, for example. Be advised that the "other" remote will be working as well under this situation. Good luck. Be careful.

    higher lift garage door tracks

Have a typical 16x7 garage door being run by a Genie device. Installed it all myself, works fine, a year old, slow but reliable. I have 10'-0" ceiling and was thinking about gaining that space, having tracks of garage go up another 24" closer to underside of bottom truss chord as they are about...

    Garage door open alert?

I had same trouble but have a man door perpendicular to main garage door. Thru a pane of that man door I can see an led light be on or off, from across the deck, inside the kitchen. I just mounted a bi-stable switch on the wall close to rail of main door. As door opens/closes, a magnet on the...

2 ton electric chain hoist problem

If it is a 3 phase motor you will have a reversing contactor inside of it or something else doing that job. AC 3 phase: change rotation of motor by swapping any 2 leads. DC: changes polarity for rotation change

    Attic ladders

Just to be fair: last month installed the Werner aluminum AH2510 into my 10' tall truss. Did it by myself, not too bad, aluminum model so much lighter. I worked off a $200 rolling scaffold from HD. Also re-sized truss chord bay to accommodate rough opening 25". This thing is very stable. Flops...

    Garage Door Opener Replacement

If it's actually 30 years old and you can afford it, get a new one. I installed a new opener, 16x8 door, wiring, tested, etc. at a new garage by myself a few months ago but I'm a mechanic. No offense but if you're asking those kind of questions it sounds like you need to have a garage door...

    Outlet wiring question

You need to get an electrician or someone who knows something about electricity to look at that problem of yours. Before someone gets hurt.

    single stage snow blower concern

Looks like a single stage does the job for me. Sounds like they are semi self-propelled as well. Good news. Good info. Thank you.

    single stage snow blower concern

Appreciate the effort in responding. Our snow is normally dry so if you get it before it packs you're good. My only other issue is that I will have to throw a lot in front of me, little room to sides from garage to street (narrow drive front to back, 1907 house), so I'll be building the amount...
