    Interior wall insulation question?

I cannot comment on what type of insulation they used or their methods, I was reffering to my late '90's experience. Compressing fiberglass insulation will lower the actual R value to the same thickness of uncompressed fiberglass, ie, nothing is gained by overstuffing fiberglass. The R-factor...

what to use to get spray foam insulation off your hands??

Does the foam can say 'contains isocyanates' any where on it? That alone is a good reason to wear gloves. ;)

Waterless barn bath. No pee funnels here!

From the sublime to the rediculous! Didn't know such a contraption existed. I've seen the peat moss bucket gig work quite well indoors and seen the metal bucket hydrated lime gig work fine outdoors. Instead of that fancy gitty-up, I have an espresso maker. My espresso maker was made in Italy...

Not really fabricating but, Anyone work on their own firearms?

My guns never complain about the cameras and jewelry they share their space with. ;) My buddy told me after he bought his gun safe, "Buy one twice as big as you think you'll need", so I doubled the one that was twice as big as his. :D Heritage Safe; I reall like it.

    Interior wall insulation question?

People assume that celluose settles in the walls because it settles when blown in loose in attics. I can assure you that my walls didn't settle. Quite the opposite; celluose is compressed in the walls and was slowly migrating out of the holes it was blown in through for several weeks after I...

    Retrofit insulation?

Not sure messing with the walls would help. Check this out; http://www.ornl.gov/sci/roofs+walls/insulation/ins_02.html For the attic, blowing insulation in is a quick, easy half day job. Make sure to install baffles to keep your soffet vents clear. The guys who will sell you the blow in...

Can you apply polyurethane foam directly to roof sheating?

Let's just say there was a roof leak; I'm guessing it would be difficult to detect if the underside was sprayed with foam. Don't know why, but I've always believed the underside of the roof needed to breathe.

    Couple insulation questions

Blowing insulation is a joy, handling fiberglass is a curse. I insulated an 1,880 sqft split level, walls and attic in two days. One day I drilled the 1" holes in the sheetrock, the next day I blew the insulation in with a helper dumping the bales into the hopper.

    Interior wall insulation question?

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34614 Scroll to the bottom ;) 1" holes every 16" are real easy to mud over when you tape and texture the rest.

    Pole building insulation idea, thoughts??

After blowing celuose insulation into the walls of my split level via the interior walls, I won't even walk down the isle at the hardware store that has the fiberglass insulation. Quick, easy and itch free. Not to mention celuose has a higher r-factor than the equivalent thickness of...
