So are these any good? They're discontinued at Northern Tool so I suspect it's being discontinued for a reason. I've been reading the Noco vs JNC thread, how does this compare to the trusty JNC700?

They are a legit company. We use them to calibrate a ton of our electronics at work, wouldn't hesitate to make a purchase from them.
