Building a pole barn in KY.

Spencer county. And there are a lot of pole barns out here with zero concrete. I'm thinking this is an updated code regulation. Nothing out here but fields and creeks! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Building a pole barn in KY.

Hey guys, has anyone built, or had a metal building built lately? My buddy is having one built, already had everything delivered, and they came out yesterday to dig the holes. Anyway, the holes failed inspection. Inspector said the holes have to be 60" deep, 22" across, with 12" footer with...

Too late for that! I guess I'll just have to hope it holds up, or maybe rig up some kind of deflector for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I put my rat guard on after, it wasn't bad, just unscrewed the bottom edge, slid the rat guard in, and rescrewed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks buddy! Yeah, propane just costs too damn much! I do have cuts in the floor, so I'm hoping when it does crack, it will crack there! I hope I go 20 years before mine cracks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Wood stove installation help

Solution #1, The stove is stamped right on the front, "do not set stove off ground, sit directly on hearth". I'm sure with flammables around, it may be different, but it's not a sealed garage anyway, there is plenty of draft. Solution #2, 1 90 degree bend is perfectly fine. Hell, through the...

Thanks! Rat guard is just a trim piece, it goes around the bottom of the metal, basically puts a flat edge along the bottom of the corrugated metal, so the corrugated side kinda gets"closed" off. Hard to explain, but easy to understand, once you see it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No plans to insulate yet, but it's not out of the question, and the concrete is 5-6 inches thick. A little overkill, but I still don't have a crack! I have a lot o rebar in there too, it's on a 2-3 foot grid! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Wood stove installation help

Thanks y'all! I got the #8 silicone boot for pipebootexpress, It fits from 7"-13", and the insulated triple wall is right at 10" OD, so it's centered in the boot good. I think that stove will do good, it puts out ALOT of heat, plus I might hang plastic across the middle of the garage over the...

    Wood stove installation help

Thanks y'all, still need to hook up some support for the exposed stove pipe, but I had a roaring fire going, and every thing seems to be venting and drawing great! That insulated triple wall pipe is awesome too, I climbed up on a ladder in felt it, where it goes through the roof, barley even...

Thanks for the heads up, I got my location changed! Also, the ebay guy came back with a counter offer, but it was still too high, so I declined and ordered one from the other place last night. I'll keep everybody posted! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
