How does the Alpha perform on thin gauge aluminum? Some reviews say its better on thicker material but doesn't say what thicker is. Doubt I will work with anything thinner than 16 gauge aluminum, but do plan on using it on car bodies.
So I am finally ready to get a TIG welder and my price range and requirements put me at the Eastwood Tig 200 or Lotos Tig 200. Basically two identical spec Chinese welders.
I am looking for thoughts and opinions on these. I can't afford a better welder, bottom line, so please don't tell me to...
Can't post in classifieds yet, but I am looking for 2 snap on hard handles for s 3/8 and 1/2 ratchet. Not concerned with the color or condition as long as they are not cracked. Going to drill out and install on my Wright ratchets.
Already installed comfort grips but didn't drill the right size...
I for years have seen the twin pawl (twin dogs as Proto calls them) that are usually made in either China or Taiwan and always wondered the origin of the design. Looking at old Proto ratchets, I think I found my answer.
Is Proto the original designer and patent holder for this design?
Why do...
I have several flea market Craftsman sockets with markings on the wrong end. I bought a Cold Steal knife blank in college at a flea market in VA. One of my roommates stole it before moving. Not sure why, except he was crazy and weird.
So I was noticing that Tekton and HF show the pawl springs installed in opposite ways on their websites. What is the correct way. Big end on the pawl or little end?
You would be shocked at the number of people that only shop on eBay. They don't have the desire to even look at other sites, just like my wife who would marry "Amazon" if it were possible. I finally had to take her credit cards away after she ran up nearly $3000 on that site in 2 months.
Yep, just like the guy on eBay who sells the Snap On 1/2" handles for $25 each when they are about $15 shipped off the Snap On site and the repair kits for $15 when they are free if you call Snap On. And the Craftsman ratchet kits for between $10 and $20 when they cost exactly $0.01 from Sears...
I have some performance tools and they are not bad for the money, but I think we get way to caught up in the lifetime warranty idea. Sometimes you just have to buy new tools, but it ***** they wouldn't just send a new one. All of my O2 service stuff is the NAPA service line or KD tools. These...
When I opened my 3/8 and 1/2 Pittsburgh pro ratchets to lube them, I notice the 3/8 did not have the stainless spring ring between the anvil and cover plate. This is on the low profile red and black handle version. The thicker head quick release ones do. It takes up the play inside the...
