Catmochanic your unit is from 93. The first two digits of the compressor serial number show the mfg. year. So you must have gotten one fresh off the line then.

My order showed up today. I ordered (16) 8' T8 fixtures for the new shop will get a build thread started soon to show the progress. I was super happy to get a deal on all the light fixtures!! Saved a little over $250 from anywhere else I priced them.

This might not be the most cost effective way of saving energy but everything that you seal out does help. You can never have too much insulation (as long as there is proper ventilation to deal with moisture) it just gets to the point of diminishing returns with the cost of materials.

If you go this route I would offset the second row of studs from the first to further reduce thermal bridging.
