    Krytox

I worked for DuPont in the plant that made it originally. The cost is somewhat justified, very expensive raw materials, difficult manufacturing processes in expensive equipment. Was good to know the guys in that building, always got small tubes (rejects with misprinted, skewed labels). They...

Vacuum pumps uses and recommendations and options to consider

Best of luck! Be sure to pull a deep vacuum, shut off pump, block in the valves and let it sit for a while. Check gauges for leakage (loss of vacuum).

Where are you located? I have a full set of AC equipment, vacuum pump, scale, micron vacuum gauge, leak detectors.... you're welcome to borrow. Expensive equipment to have laying around after your job.

    Broken Snap On Rachet

Call customer service. They’ll send/sell you a rebuild kit. Never had an issue with tools or dating back to the 1970s. No way to prove I was the original owner from my long gone, hand written, Snap On credit book as a teenager.

Double pane window with bad seal

Did a number on the back face of my house. On the inside, there’s usually four strips that pop out with a putty knife. From the outside run a thin flexible knife (fillet knife or sharpened hacksaw blade, to cut the foam tape. Sealed glass unit will come out. A glass / window dealer can order a...

Breather tube bleeds air when compressor off

Great advice on the air lines/valves. When you get the head off, replace the gaskets if there’s any question on them. Check the “flatness” of the head & block. If you don’t have a precision straightedge, a piece of glass with very fine sandpaper can show if one or both are warped. Plenty of...

What tool to get this connector out of transmission?

The bolt mentioned is on the previous design (822.6), separate connector shell. For this job, a wood wedge should help. Tap in gently, pry against the wedge and the trans case above. As you know, the connector is part of the conductor plate, expensive and married to the VIN.

    Angle stop plumbing question

Rotate it & retighten. This is done all the time in much more critical applications (high pressure flammable gasses).
