This IS a KRM54 box from 1979. It's actually much larger than I thought it was... 26"W x 13"T x 15"D... basically a 26" topbox.

After scoping out the Collecting Snap-On site, and some intensive Google-fu, I think this is a KRM 54... though I'm not entirely sure.
