Gas heater or Mini Split for heat

You wouldn't be anymore efficient running that low compared to 62. What I'm saying is that because of the way the unit is designed, it would cost about the same to maintain 50 as it would 62. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    PEX - Educate Me

I went with the pinch clamps instead of the crimp rings. Every room in the house I renovate gets transitioned to PEX. Pinch clamps are less expensive for the clamps and the tool. Much easier than sweating copper, and you can make radius bends with it. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Home heating - how to determine whether I can control up/down-stairs temp separately?

Add a minisplit unit to that zone. It's not that big of a job, it's not unnervingly expensive, and these new modern units can provide heat down to 10* outside temp or lower, plus they're stupid efficient. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    Heat wont start

Are you out of the industry now? There's a nationwide shortage of HVAC people given the economy boom and everyone is busy. Unless you **** at life and your trade, then you can get to the job "right away" Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Such a thing as long lasting dehumidifier?

I think they already come as propane or butane or ammonium refrigerant units. Besides, if there's no leak why would you need to put any in? The compressors are **** from China made to a price point. That's what usually goes. They're very very simple machines that look a whole lot more...

Needs recs for new workbench mitre saw

No roast man. I've had a Ryobi saw for 10 years that I bought at a pawn shop and I cut trim with it last weekend. It's been dropped (like 8 years ago) and the handle/trigger broke off and I just taped a push button switch to the back of the motor housing. Still works like a champ. Sent...

    Heat wont start

If it's the MGV it will be trying to turn on at the solenoid. Hook up a voltmeter and see if it is a steady 24v (or 120v) ac. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    Garage power time

Aluminum just for the price? I'd bump up to copper just because it's a one-time job, safer, and thinner per ampacity. 2-2-2-6 service entrance cable to a 100 amp sub panel and you'll be set for a lift, welders, plasma cutter, wood tools, etc. And you'll be safer, no noalox to deal with Sent...

    Heat wont start

Could be a bad main gas valve. Take that outer panel off, tape in the panel safety switch, turn it back on, and zero in on where the noise is coming from. You'll have a gas manifold trying to blow fire into the unit from the main gas valve, a small blower motor for the exhaust flue, and your...

    Heat wont start

Since practically no one op checks their unit before they need it, everyone has problems at the same time when the weather changes. A week isnt unreasonable this time of year when all of a sudden everyone needs heat and flips the switch to bad results. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

    Garage Ramp Build

2 or 4 times a month with the car. Maybe. More often than that with the motorcycle. I debated going all out with footings but the soil is sand on top of hard pan and that area holds water in a heavy rain and I figured it was packed as packed can be. I cut the turf out. Sent from my...
