Old tool ID - Cleaning Dad's tools

Very cool info guys. I guess I was right on the arbor, but was picturing the hole saw mount sandwiched in the middle. That threw me off the trail. Good to know about the star drills too. I figured they were some sort of punch but had never seen ones like these. It's funny, my dad's favorite...

Old tool ID - Cleaning Dad's tools

I'm cleaning some of my Dads tools that are rusted from being drowned during last year's flooding in our area and I found a few that I'm not sure what they are. The 1st one I thought was hole saw chuck but there is a c-clip preventing the nut from coming off or moving far enough to disengage...

    Shop stool

Seems like that might have been a guess, but you are correct. The hanger on the bottom of the seat is where they put their purses. My grandmother was an operator at the local telephone company back in the day we have a few of these floating around our family Sent on the fly

    Please ID these punches

Nope. Not spring loaded. And, unless they're seized from lack of use the center part is rigid with the outer part. Sk farmer may be on to something. Sent on the fly

    Shop stool

Here's one of may shop stools. It could use casters, but I haven't convinced myself to add them yet. Kudos to the 1st person that can tell us what they were 1st used for. Sent on the fly

    Please ID these punches

Would they have something to do with these? In my searching I couldn't find the punches but found these called tampin anchors. Looks like they could be related. Also, I found quite a few of these in various places in his stuff. Sent on the fly

    Please ID these punches

I found these punches when going through a box of tools from my grandfather. The 3 smaller ones, sizes #8, #10 and 1/4, have the word TAMPIN stamped in them before the size. The only marking I could find on the largest one is a diamond stamped on the side. Who here can tell me what these are...

    Let's see your toolbox.

I'll post two of mine (since I seem to have smaller ones all over) this is my main box. It's a Snap On that I've had since around 1990 or so. It resides in my shed in the back yard. For my tinkering I have this older Matco single drawer cart in the garage that keeps the more often used tools...
