    Subpanel - SubPanel Feed

Still fighting with electrician. Can't fire him because he works for the builder. He wants to run a #4 bare wire and use it as the ground, since he only ran a 2-2-4 URD feeder for the detached garage. I told him a #2 insulated wire is needed for the neutal wire since the hot legs are #2. The...

    Tandem Strip Light Wiring

I planning to buy four Lithonia Model # TUNS 2 32 MVOLT 1/4 GEBHL at HD. I'm assuming there is a ballast for each pair of 4' bulbs. I read in one of postings these fixtures can be wired to two separte light switches. If so, can I use two separate 14-guage wire for hot and one single...

120 and 240VAC in same gang box

Does NEC allow installing one 120VAC 20A duplex outlet and one 240VAC 20A single outlet in the same 2-gang (35 cu. in.) plastic box? Does NEC allow installing two 240VAC 20A single outlets in the same 2-gang (35 cu. in.) plastic box? I was wondering because the I can't find a box covers...

    Screws in 2-Gang Box

Does NEC allow the mounting if a 2-gang thermoplastic box using screws inside the box into the stud? Do I need to tape over screw heads? I have found the nails don't hold box in place after heavy usage. Thanks.

    Subpanel - SubPanel Feed

Building new house and detached garage. Electrician filled up my 200A service panel. I have no spare slots for any breakers, so he wants to install a subpanel next to the service panel to create additonal breaker slots. I don't know what else to do.

    Subpanel - SubPanel Feed

Electrician installed a 200A service panel in new house. He also installed a 100A subpanel in my new detached garage. I believe he ran a 2-2-4 URD cable instead of a 2-2-2-4 cable between the house and shop. Can’t confirm cable type at this time. Now he wants to install a new 100A subpanel...

    T5 Strip Light

My detached garage is 28'x30' with 9’ ceiling. I'm thinking about evenly spacing three 8-ft T5 (Model # TZR 2 54T5HO) strip lights across the 30' span. How many rows are needed for woodworking - 3 or 4 rows

    Conduit Size

Installing 2-2-2-4 SER cable between house and detached garage. I assuming the SER is not direct bury, so what is the minumum NEC size allows using gray PVC conduit for this cable. I will have a LB at the house and garage.

    2-2-4-SEU for Garage subpanel

The house is unconstruction and detached garage is 95% complete. Not to confuse the topic, but what if I installed a subpanel in my house off of my service panel, is SER 4 conductor cable required too?

    Outlets Number on Branch Circuit

I'm almost afraid to ask. Is there a maximum number of receptacles allowed on a single 20-amp branch circuit in a bedroom? Currently I have seven outlets. I don't know if it matters, but the bedroom is approximately 150 sq ft.

    2-2-4-SEU for Garage subpanel

I don't have any metal conductors between the house and detached garage. Water line is PEX, electrical conduit is gray pvc, do not have a gas line. Thanks for the responses.

    2-2-4-SEU for Garage subpanel

Thanks for the response and NEC info. It's exactly what I needed.

    2-2-4-SEU for Garage subpanel

I think electrician installed 2-2-4 SEU cable between the house 200A service panel and detached garage 100A subpanel. I think it should be 2-2-2-4 cable instead of 2-2-4. I can’t confirm because I’m out of town. Can someone site the NEC section stating a 4-conductor cable is necessary, so I...
