Would you buy a Craftsman starter set?

I voted yes. If I had to start over again for some reason and needed a pretty full tool set quickly, this is the way I would go. Then upgrade to snap on ratchets, and upgrade the wrenches and screwdrivers as I could afford to. All my SAE sockets are still craftsman. Never felt a need to...

    Craftsman cordless 19.2v impact wrench

I found it on craftsman.com with one battery and a charger (#931305) for $99.99. There is currently 15% off online, bringing it to $84.99, then code SEARS2011 drops it an additional 5%.

    Craftsman cordless 19.2v impact wrench

You can use coupon code SEARS2011 and get an additional 5% off if you purchase online. Took mine down to $80 before tax, and I'm going to pick it up tonight. Should make tire changes a lot quicker.

    Craftsman cordless 19.2v impact wrench

I've heard decent reviews of it, and for only $84.99 with battery and charger online through craftsman.com, I'm about to buy one!

    Recommended test leads for Vantage?

I recently bought a Snap On Vantage graphing meter off of my local snap on driver for $100. The leads are a little beat up, and I'd really like to replace them with a decent set. I can't afford to drop a ton of money on the fluke or pomona sets, but don't really see a much better option. What...

    Good luck at Sears tonight

I always see people's horror stories with sears/craftsman warranty, so I thought I'd share my good story that happened tonight. I replaced all my metric sockets with snap-ons, but have kept my craftsman in SAE since they aren't used anywhere near as much. They were all 12 points that I bought...

Launch scan tool any techs got one

I have the MAC Tools version of the CReader V. Decent little code reader for what I paid, but very slow to move through the menus and the data graphing was pretty slow. If the graph moved out of the values that were on the screen it has to clear the screen and start a new graph with different...

What are some Snap On must haves?

I am not a professional tech, I sell auto parts and work on my own cars and some customers cars for cash on the weekends. After breaking a craftsman 3/8" ratchet 3 times in one month, I got frustrated and met up with the local snap on driver for a new ratchet. I can't imagine using anything...

    Mechanic Tool/Service Cart

I will second that harbor freight service cart. I bought mine on sale for $99.99 and its some of the best money I've spent so far. I've got all my screwdrivers and 3/8th sockets and ratchets in there, along with my impact gun and impact sockets, breaker bars, multimeter, obd II scan tool, some...

    Snap On Microscan

I believe the pro model was $399 in the October flyer. Another $129 or so if you want the obd1 adapters. It's on my want list. Hopefully I'll get one for Christmas.

    Dual 80 Pros & Cons

These are the best ratchets I have ever owned/used. I'm not sure if that says much, since I was using craftsman raised panels up until mid summer this year when I switched over to the craftsman thin profiles. The difference there was incredible, and I feel the same step up with my new snap on...

    cordless drill batteries

Just did this to a HF 18 volt drill battery. Hasn't worked in three years, but I was in desperate need for a drill to use in the garage the other night. Froze the battery for one hour, then tapped the bottom of it for a minute with a screwdriver handle. Charged it for four hours, and it was...

    Comfortable Screwdrivers

A little off topic but since we are talking about the husky pro's in here, did anyone else's smell like strawberry candy when they first bought them? Mine had a strong candy-like smell. My girlfriend loved them because of it.

    Comfortable Screwdrivers

I like the Husky Professional set I just bought. A six piece set is only $19.99 and they're nicer than the standard craftsman, and I think just as nice as the Craftsman Pro. That's just my opinion. I definitely plan on getting a Snap On set next, but the Husky's have been working great.

    New-To-Me Vantage Pro

This will probably be my next big purchase from Snap On. Can't wait to get one and get into more diagnostic work.
