Same here although it did work a treat a few weeks ago when replacing the suspension on the wagon. struts have an allen key on the top that needs to be held when cranking the bolt down, having a ratchet was nice.

Your main hiccup with sketchup is not being able to draw/get squared up. Probably because you are in the default setting to "perspective" view which makes things skewed like you are looking at it in real life. There is a view setting to set it to "parallel", this should help you out.

the bimmer has a central jack point front and rear so i jack it up on that then place my jack stands on the side lift points. I tend to still leave the jack under there somewhere, just in case lol
