I am also planning a 40x60 - looking to do metal frame so as to use the height and space for a lift. the traditional wood rafters appear to take up a lot of space.

Looking to build an L shape garage/shop. Want to see what people have built.
Mine will be 4 car on one side and 3 on the other, where they meet I want that to be the machine shop area. 4 car side will be two car deep.

Yes indeed, it is called experience. Hell at my ripe old age of 39, I still manage to learn life lessons :thumbup:.
As for the windows, the left side door opening will go out into a greenhouse that I will be building soon so no need for windows on that side. This building is going to house all...
Then work stopped! I got injured building this...
story goes like this:
I took my gloves off to move the table saw and organize the work space some. I had a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the way so I grab it and swing it around to place along the wall, plywood hits the edge of the saw and slips...

Yep HF box, just pop the US General badge and added a small Craftsmen badge I had laying around. Fooled my buddy and he did not believe me until I showed him the HF badge... :)
