    Remote Controlled light

Would something like these work for you? You would have to either have a light you can plug in or wire it up to a plug. Obviously you would have to find one with the range that works for you. http://www.plasmaled.com/ac_wireless.htm Or what about a Sawdust collector remote turn on. Again it...

Fire Safety -- Help me recharge my H2O extinguisher

Add a little liquid dish soap to the fire extinguisher or if you know anyone on your local FD ask them for a cup of fire fighting foam. Either makes the water a little thicker and sticks to whatever you are spraying down making it more effictive. We use them for hunting down hot spots in houses...

    Wood Putty?

Mix the sawdust with a little wood glue, fill in the holes, little sanding and Bobs your Uncle. If you are staining it would be and the exact same, but I think it works better then wood putty any day and sawdust is normally pretty easy to find when working with wood. lol

    Workbenches revisited

Hard to see from the picture but my bench is only attached to the wall. The black side with the square and level on it is only to dress up the end and a place to hang things. Been there a year now and so far no problems with it. I used a support on both ends of the bench and one next to the two...

Start to think about set up a dust collector system for my woodworking tools. Wondering who here has set one up and what types of tips they can provide me. My main lines are going to 4'' pvc piping that will be dropped down to 2'' for some smaller tools. I need it to be a compact system as the...

    Garage Door Covers

Ha I like those!! The multi door ones are pretty good. But yeah, not sure if I would put it on my garage either. The window ones might be an idea however to keep people from looking, have to keep watching to see if they post anything.

    Wood Question?

I am with Back2Class, I have an 80+ year old home. A 2x4 or 2x6 is really 2x4 or 2x6. Makes it a pain to add anything new. Not to mention I have a 2 1/2 diameter tree stump in the basement holding up the house. Looks kind of cool tho, so it is staying and it is solid as can be.
