    That could have some merit since they're found on things like air conditioners, although I've never seen it on a garage heater. Maybe it helps the vent pipes avoid rusting long-term?

    Sure did. Yes, I have that document. It states this: "Any unused open end of the Tee or Wye should be closed off with a Tee Cap (TC). Reducing Tees (T) and Wyes (Y) are also available." But it lacks any specific instructions for how to secure it, or if anything is necessary beyond the friction...

    Thanks for the response. Any thoughts on the tee cap? They mention wanting the ability to remove and clean it periodically, but I don't see a good way to secure it if it needs the ability to be removed.
