There is a specialty sealant used for patching/sealing over those bolts. It's typically used for metal roofing. Check with a roofing supply company.

Yes, the above-pictured piece is most likely professionally machined. That's why the company that sells them is getting $200+. I have an un-drilled piece ($40) that I'd like to lighten myself. I have a Craftsman floor-standing drill press. It has several pullies under the cowling allowing speed...

OK. I've never used them in a drill press before. Slow w/cutting oil (and a big freakin' clamp to hold the piece down)?

I need to "lighten" my motor mount, as shown below. What's the best way to drill large holes like this in steel? I believe the metal is about 1/8" thick. I have a drill press, if that helps...

I don't think I "bought wrong". I only paid $700 for the set-up and I do want to be able to weld aluminum some day. I just think that I should learn how to weld steel first before "stepping up" to aluminum.
