Which tools are you buying people for Christmas?

I'm at a loss right now on what to get people. Last year I got my brother some koken nutgrip sockets, my dad a facom ratchet, and the uncle got a bahco adjustable wrench. I might actually get my brother the astro onyx air ratchet. I know he has been eyeballing it since he has seen mine.

Looking for tool carts with a worktop?

Well thanks for the ideas guys. Kennedy, or proto with my own work top might be an interesting way to go.

    Socket Questions

Working in specific dealerships, never had a problem. Once I moved to an independent shop that works on a lot of **** box cars all day. Its a damn problem. I will be working on a car, that is metric, then BAM SAE bolts are installed on the car after a gorilla "repaired" the vehicle. Then I...

    Tools of Japan

Got 2 of the zeal towels, and a koken pen last year when I put a large order into a shop in japan. Pen still works great, one zeal towel still new in packaging, and one towel gets used as a soft surface on the box to not scratch dash parts like airbags. And the damn snap on guy won't even...

Looking for tool carts with a worktop?

I'm searching for a tool cart, specifically with a work top. Seems like all I can find within the U.S. are tool carts where the lid folds up, or its just a rolling shelf style cart. I'm looking for something with a couple drawers, and either a stainless, aluminum, or plastic work top. Kind of...

    Scanners... Which one?

I run a launch and I love it. At the price point, its a good little scanner. I picked it up for half the cost that my matco guy was trying to sell me online, with free updates for life. If I need the SO scanner, I borrow it. Also, for $20.00 on amazon, you can pick up a bluetooth BAFX scanner...

    is it just me...?

I use an adjustable wrench on alignments, but its specifically for tie rod lock nuts. But yeah vice grips would annoy me as well. So not just you.

    2018 Garage Sale Thread

Well, I hit a barn sale today. Ended up rummaging through the old mans wrenches and decided to pick up a couple. He didn't have complete sets, but I grabbed the ones I liked. I also picked up a mini vice for a couple bucks, not sure how well I did with the mini vice, but I mostly picked it up...

    Impact screwdriver

Depends on what you find reasonable. I find under 70.00 for a good impact driver reasonable. I have a koken attack driver. Which I later changed out the koken bits with vessel bits. It has seen many honda rotors and has never failed while I was working at the honda dealer. Stay away from the...

    Impact driver bits

I run a 1/4 impact to 3/8 socket adapter. Dropped on a koken 3/8 socket bit holder part no 3138 if I recall. Which holds the 5/16 bits. Then I picked up some 10 packs of vessel 5/16 bits. They hold up excellent for me. But I doubt I use them as much as you use yours. They get quite a bit of...

    anyone familiar with draper tools?

I'm looking at this style for the adjustable height in the center. I perfer these kind over the pivot sheer pin in the center like the OTC and gear wrench. (which those work fine as well, I have one of the same style.)
