    Unusual Hammer, Solomon Anderson 1845

Interesting, I didn't get from the picture that the claw part could still pull nails. Any chance it is a collector item worth $500 ? That's the asking price on Facebook.

    Unusual Hammer, Solomon Anderson 1845

Saw this on Facebook. Usually when I see a tool I don't recognize I search for it here and don't need to post. Searched for Solomon Anderson 1845 and Excalibur 4 which was in the description but didn't find anything. I can't imagine what the curved back is for?

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Seems every time I get to reading this forum I spot something on marketplace I wouldn't have known I wanted. LOL Almost drove 200 miles to buy this vise, can anyone verify what it is. From the one picture it appeared to have pipe jaws, was there even an 8 inch version of the C series? The anvil...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Got this today off FB Marketplace. I've seen quite a few of the Wilton and Snap On 1755's in this thread with prices all over the place. I wanted it to upgrade from my 5 inch Shop King which has a lot of sentimental value (It was my Grandads) but doesn't stay clamped and the swivel slips when...

let's see your craftsman block grinders

Found this 1/2 hp 397.19340 on FB Marketplace. It was the old industrial cast iron stand that caught my attention. Can anyone recognize it? This is the way things go, I had just started the restoration on a 397.19340 I already had, even ordered and received a new label from MattBlast for it...

    2022 Garage Sale Thread

Found on FB Marketplace. Despite already having three 1/3 HP and one 1/2 HP block grinders waiting to be restored. I couldn't resist another 1/2 horse because of the stand. The stand is a very old and heavy cast iron pedestal stand for something. The 397.19340 grinder is attached nicely with...

    Paper towel holders

I learned about that one from an earlier Garage Journal topic. It works great and having two means I can use the cheaper paper towels for routine tasks and save the more expensive blue shop towels for when they are needed.

    Thanks @Private Lugnutz very educational!

    Info on Snap-on Lic-Reissue 3/4 drive socket.

Thanks, so the original license from Blackhawk expired, but was renewed in 1928 and then again later (no date?) on the socket @d42jeep posted? The model LDH-422-A socket is still available new on the Snap-on website ($79) so at some point the Blackhawk license didn't need to be renewed? And...

    Info on Snap-on Lic-Reissue 3/4 drive socket.

Among some 3/4 drive sockets I picked up is this older Snap-on LDH-422-A 1-5/16 inch 12 point. Noticed the Lic-Reissue text and couldn't anything about it. Was it a patent or trademark renewal? Thanks for any info.

Tiny Shopsmith For a Doll House?

I browse the Kickstarter campaigns and have backed (bought) a few items over the years. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not. But it's entertaining to me to see what people are trying to do and how they pitch it. http://kck.st/3fApr8C It's basically $500, if you aren't familiar with how...
