A few more pictures in the open position. From what I can tell the vise has been stripped of all original coatings or Japanning. The jaws are way higher than what I am used to and I wouldn't want to hammer on it like I do with my Wilton Bullets or Reeds. It is in great condition though. So...

Anybody out there that knows who makes this wood lathe? Pretty solid lathe with hand scraped ways and heavy duty ball bearing head stock. There are a few numbers but nothing comes up on the web. Appreciate any advice
Thank You for the information on the Trenton vise. I purchased it for next to nothing at a local estate and turned a nice profit. I love learning about old tools as much as I enjoy hunting them down and reselling.
Does anyone on here have or know where I can purchase a Reed no.204R movable jaw? I have a completely reconditioned Reed with swivel base but a broken movable jaw. (Never seen a broken Reed until now). I could anchor then braze this but would love to get this back to as original as possible...
I picked this Sargent no.43 Machinist Vise up from a local estate sale. Never seen one before this. Pretty solid vise. Stout at 31 lbs. with 3 1/2" jaw width. Very nice fit between both the bodies and screw. Very little play in Lead Srew. I would appreciate an honest appraisal. No need trying to...
Sorry to intrude on this converstaion but I to have an anvil I recently purchased that does not have a clear makers mark on it. A few folks that I have talked to suggest it is an arm and hammer anvil. It wieghs 94 lbs or 92.5 on my scale. there is a serial number on the front. What throws me off...
