    Icon tool box pricing

I was in HF and saw the new Icon tool box. They also had prices listed and I thought I'd share. The guy there said they'd just brought them out and they weren't on sale yet. I played with it some and it seemed nice. I didn't give it an in depth looks cause it's out of my price range.

    2019 Lowe's deals/sales/clearance thread

Thanks for the heads up on the Craftsman 3/4" drive SAE sockets from some pages ago. Between the 4 stores in my area (2 of which had them on clearance) I was able to pick up a lot of sockets in the 1 to 2" range.

    Drillbit grinder

Congrats on finding the drill bit grinder. I'm happy to see you restoring it!

Clausing 20 Variable speed pulley removal

The attached picture is about the only one I have that is directly applicable. It shows pushing down the spring retainer to remove the retainer clip. I've got some other pics on my blog in my signature. Go there and search for "Clausing Drill Press" and you'll find several posts with that in...

Clausing 20 Variable speed pulley removal

You can probably find a manual on Vintage Machinery. Take a look here. http://www.vintagemachinery.org/mfgindex/detail.aspx?id=182&tab=3 You'll have to know your model number to get the "right" manual. Though others might be close.

Clausing 20 Variable speed pulley removal

I've got a 15" Clausing that I've gone through and it seems similar to your 20. Though my pulley assembly is put on in the other direction I think the same approach will work. The pulley assembly (both halves) has been pressed onto the motor shaft and secured with the set screw. You'll have...

    Advice on Ratchets

I second (or third) the recommendation of a Snap-On Dual 80 in used but good condition from ebay. I went this route after my primary ratchet started messing up and the only problem I've had is the Dual 80s have multiplied. The F80s are relatively cheap on ebay and replacement parts will be...

Moving a CNC Bridgeport Mill any advice?

The manual has some lifting info on pg 1.1 http://www.truetex.com/bridgeport-manual.pdf. There's a threaded hole for a lifting eye on the top of the ram. I've heard people rotate and lock the head down before moving. FYI there may be some oil that runs out when you invert the head. I've read...

Where to buy tooling for a lathe

I couldn't find much about your lathe but what I did find seemed to indicate it was an older cone head style lathe. The speeds those lathes like to turn are more suited to HSS bits though you can use carbide with them. HSS bits are much cheap and you can grind them to whatever kind of tool you...

    Welding a vice... Need advice!!

The easiest approach would be to heat it and weld in a single pass. The slower, but still effective approach, is to weld short, separate beads and peen them as they cool. Keep welding short beads until you have it welded up. You might also look into brazing it back together.

    US General 27" box

That box has been around for a while. It's pretty nice and is inline with their wide boxes as far as quality goes. It's sold as a set and they don't sell the top or bottom separately. You could probably sell the top box on Craigslist or something. HF is updating their tool cabinets...

Best way to remove rust from tools?

Evaporust is the easiest method to use for numerous small items. Acids such as vinegar can work too. Just keep an eye on them as acids eat metal. Electrolysis works well but isn't the best for this since each item would have to be electrically connected and have a clear view of the...

Solvents, is it safe to submerge a Teflon gear in Diesel fuel?

This is a good site for looking up solvent-material compatibility. https://www.coleparmer.com/Chemical-Resistance Maybe a nylon gear? If so diesel is fine according to the site.

    180 Degree drill bits

ocloc has it correct. They're for flattening the bottom of a hole you drilled with a regular (pointed) drill bit.
