Thanks for the feedback! I’ve almost been thinking about getting an induction heater and a welder for my home garage to tackle any stuck bolts and studs to compliment a swirl map gas torch. Things I need to cut out I can use an angle grinder on. Just thoughts so far. Still haven’t bought...

Love to hear about how well that bolt buster works seeing as I live in the north east where everything has rust on it. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

    Reusing Fluid Transfer Pump

Thanks. I’ve seen though and have considered grabbing one. Don’t think it’ll work though for the Toyota CVT ATF since that comes in a big metal can. Seems like a waste of time to pour it from the can into a compatible bottle too just to use it. But maybe i grab one of those and a sprayer jug too...

    Reusing Fluid Transfer Pump

I actually paper towel dry my funnels too, then hand wash them. Never used soap though, I would use friction more. I do try and use engine oil on one filter, coolant of any type with another, etc. But funnels are cheap are store easily so I don’t mind having a couple. Not looking to have to...

    Reusing Fluid Transfer Pump

Tried searching and couldn’t find something this specific as what I was wondering. I was going to get a 1 gallon sprayer and convert it to a fluid transfer pump, in particular for ATF and Differential Fluid changes. I know cross contamination is bad. Assuming after use I spray the jug out with...

Portable Air Compressor Size for Impact Hammer Home Use

Thanks for the feedback. I’d love to hear how your air hammer actually works with the compressor you have whenever you get the chance. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

Portable Air Compressor Size for Impact Hammer Home Use

I understand all that and the physics of it honestly. I’m just trying to find out how long those short bursts of on time would be for an air hammer. Or more specifically, specs on a compressor that will give me the time needed to take off a rusted rotor or suspension joint while only having to...

Portable Air Compressor Size for Impact Hammer Home Use

Yea I hear you. The one I linked definitely isn’t right for what I was looking for. That is gonna work with high gauge nails only. Does the Rolair FC2002 4.3 gal that you mentioned work well with an air hammer? I’d imagine with its virtually continuous use ability from the beefier motor that...

Portable Air Compressor Size for Impact Hammer Home Use

I just realized the CFM of the compressor I linked it too low. I saw you need like 4 CFM for an air hammer, and want 6+ CFM ideally. With the makita compressor you have, do you find the gallon size of it limiting? Sounds like no in which case I can stick to a smaller size compressor 5-8 gallon...

Portable Air Compressor Size for Impact Hammer Home Use

Thanks for the suggestion! I knew big nasty would be overkill. But if you can make due with a 4.20 gallon tank then maybe I do have a chance. I have a dremel, M12 die grinder and 3/8” compact impact. I have M18 1/2” mid and high torque impacts as well as their 4.5” angle grinder. I really would...

Portable Air Compressor Size for Impact Hammer Home Use

That’s a shame. The pancake compressor is probably the biggest I could get and be willing to store for how much use it’d get Since I have so many battery powered tools. Thanks for the assistance in letting me know what size I’d need. I literally may be better off just getting a SDS M18 drill at...

Portable Air Compressor Size for Impact Hammer Home Use

I tried searching but it’s such a niche question I had no luck. I don’t have an air compressor and have all battery powered tools really. Unfortunately, I’d love an air hammer as there is no real battery powered equivalent without getting a massive SDS style drill. Air compressor would also be...

I love Carlyle’s locking flex head ratchets. I have their roto ratchets too but other than the 1/4” roto, I’m always coming back to the locking flex. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

Jaw Horse vs Bech Vise / both / Milwaukee Packout Work Surface

Thanks for the tip. I also have sawhorses I can use to increase the stability when clamping large items. Rockwell even sells and adjustable height sawhorse with its own mini clamping ability if I ever was that desperate. I think the sheetmaster will meet the vast majority of my needs and be a...
