I have a pair of thorogoods i bought based on a recommendation here. They are fantastic. My only gripe is that driving long distance in them makes my right knee hurt because of the thick sole. It's no big deal though, I just change shoes if I need to drive more than a couple hours.
What is your application and current brand? I've sheered the heads off of various machine and self tapping screws with my brushed Hitachi 18v. My Milwaukee brushless 18v seems more powerful than the Hitachi, but the ability to change power settings has allowed me to sheer fewer fasteners.
I did this recently. The wire gauge they use is pathetic, so I have no illusions of it lasting very long. It's a free meter though, so I'm not shocked that the wire is strand of hair thin.
I have 3 Rigid impact bit sets similar to your milwaukee set. Extra stuff gets thrown in them specific to the job I'm working on. I also use a little 7" Plano box and a magnetic parts holder. I think Plano boxes might be exactly what you're looking for.
My work truck always has a case of bottled water, a box of protein bars, and a set of Walls coveralls. I also have bandaids and spare batteries on hand. I've been meaning to pick up a small first aid kit.
I just took a look. The Blair cutters might be an option with the 6 size large diameter kit costing less than two Roto-Kuts. I do, however, like the fact that the Roto-Kut self centers, whereas the Blair needs a center punch.
I use a Roto-Kut sold by Kimball Midwest. The thing works amazingly well, but it's also extremely pricey. I've seen other cutters that look similar by Greenlee and Irwin. Anyone used another brand that works well? The application is steel plate between 1/8" and 1/4".
I love Klein pliers. I use their needle nose and diagonal cutters all day every day. I wish they would bring out a set of crimpers only for insulated connectors, or with the insulated section in front of the non-insulated tooth. I'd much prefer to use my Klein crimpers instead of my...
Your toaster example sort of goes against what you're trying to prove. I'd rather pay $60 for 6 toaster that will last 4 years apiece, than one that will last 20.
Used the 25% off today straight off my phone with no issues. They let me use it on the new shelf for the 5 drawer cart if anyone was curious about that.
