I played with them at the store and I found them to be quite nice, I considered them when I wanted a few fixed head ratchets to complement my snap-on flex heads, so why did I pay the extra for the snap-ons? Because Sears will likely discontinue them just like they did with everything else pro...
I've never used a flex wrench and I would think it wouldn't be as bad since it isn't as long but I can tell you I've bashed my hand pretty good a few times with my long flex head ratchet.
Snap-On punches and chisels are made in the US by Mayhew, certainly not the same.
While I've never seen their punches, everything Starett I've seen has been top notch.
If it's cranking but not starting try cracking the injector lines loose (not off) and cranking it over, if it's getting fuel it will start coming out and you'll know it's getting fuel, you'll also be bleeding air out, sometimes those little diesels can be a ***** to prime.
For what it's worth I've also seen one of the other guys at work bend his snappy punches too, now I don't know how much harder those really are but I believe the Sears no questions asked warranty also apply to their punches. I've beat on some of my larger ones pretty good with my snap on 32oz...
I remember when back when I worked retail I'd see people come in looking for parts for items they purchased at pawn shops on occasion, I'd always ask what they paid 99% of the time they payed 90-110%+ of the price they could have purchased new from our store for.
Interesting, I was wondering where these may have come from since the guy that gave them to me only works on outboards lol. I have some other oddball older than I am railroad wrenches taking up space in my toolbox at work too.
I have a bunch of larger Proto wrenches, mostly duplicates in 26, 29, and 36mm. I don't really have a use for these wrenches and they are in pretty good shape, what are they worth if I were to sell them on here or Ebay?
I remember my old car was misfiring on cylinder 3 so I changed the plugs, didn't fix it, changed the coil pack, didn't fix it, finally I looked at the wires and one of them had the coating melted away from the header and was shorting out. Felt like a bit of an idiot...
I have experience with the Snap-on ones and I personally own the craftsman ones. Both of them are tough and they are certainly the kind of pry bars you can out some muscle behind. You'd be suprised how useful those things are, I especially like the small one for pulling out seals.
