Who said that he strongly prefers comprehensive socket sets?

These half sizes aren't for damaged lug nuts, they're for swollen lug nuts. I used the 22.5 lug socket on a 2013 Malibu two weeks ago due to swollen lug 'caps'. The caps aren't separate from the lug and aren't removable (they don't thread onto the lug like the older lug covers from the 1990s...

Look out Knipex, here comes ICON!

The title of this thread made me not even want to read the original post. Nothing out of an HF store can be remotely compared LONG TERM to Knipex. -- Dave

Best Honda Toyota terminal depin tool set?

I've depinned at least 15 ECU connectors in the past 18 months and I've used the Snap-On 10 piece set for every one of them. Luckily the set was on sale when I bought it but I would have had no problem paying the standard price for it. -- Dave

    makita batteries

There are YouTube videos where the aftermarket batteries were taken apart and compared to the genuine Makita batteries. Aftermarket had very substandard internal components. Basically got what you paid for. I'd never use a non-Makita battery, ever. -- Dave

    This is not a Torx.

Torx Plus has been around for at least 15 years, if not longer. Ford has used them on commercial vehicles since at least 2005, if not earlier. It's nothing new. -- Dave

Help me find a use for this

Buy a Godzilla plastic figure, glue the wrench to his hand and hang it from the Christmas tree (or set it as the tree topper). -- Dave

More than a rumor: SK is in fact in process of being sold.

Lots of the posts in this thread are utterly ridiculous. Tekton isn't going to buy a small American tool company (and they're not "top shelf", either), nor is Harbor Frieght. Both of those companies probably consider themselves better than SK (and on the balance sheet they probably are, by a...

Do you know PB SWISSTOOL, possibly the best screwdrivers in the world?

All of us are aware of PB Swiss. What you're posting isn't anything new. -- Dave

Automotive voltage tester without wire damage?

It depends on what you're measuring. Some sensors receive 5 volts from the ECU, some receive 12 volts. Get yourself some back probes or T-pins and use your DMM. -- Dave

    Hydraulic jack oil change?

I would change it. It's a simple job. -- Dave

    Hello. boy I'm lost!

Hi Bill, welcome to the board. I would recommend making a new thread titled "Help with Snap-On YA700' and enter the specifics in the body of the post (or just edit the title of this thread). I'm sure you'll receive plenty of help, as there are good, intelligent people that reside amongst us...

New car, new excuse to buy more tools (Honda content)

You'll never need the Honda crank pulley tool if you buy the Lisle 19mm Honda/Acura crankshaft socket. It hits harder (if you have a good impact wrench) to spin the bolt off easily. I've pulled 200,000 mile crank pulleys easily with the Lisle. No other specialty tools are needed. Just make...

    A silly grease question

Once in a while I see really good prices on Amazon for different grades of GPL but typically stuff I have no use for due to its viscosity (and being suspect of the seller). You are correct about automotive seals, as it's used by almost all major manufacturers on rubber sealing surfaces. I have...

Need a hand held vacuum pump

Mityvac Silverline, 100%. There's a switch to change from vacuum to pressure and as has already been stated, they are rebuildable! All metal construction is well worth it if you're going to use it regularly. If you plan on using it just once or twice, the plastic Mityvac's should suffice. --...
