What do you guys all think of fluid film

That's interesting. Really? It doesn't seem that much the same. Per the MSDS info the flash point of the Chemsol product is 55 deg F., the Fluid Film's is 207 deg CELSIUS. Plus the chemsol product lists a bunch of solvent ingredients. Fluid Film contains no solvents.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Took down a 4' T12 fluorescent fixture that had stopped working. Replacing the lamps didn't fix it . I got a new T8 ballast and lamps and tombstones and replaced them. I think I could have gotten a whole new fixture a little cheaper -- oh, well. When I replaced it I installed a...

    Ball Peen side?

The ball peen hammer's heads should be softer, as they are intended to strike hardened tools like chisels. Carpenters' hammers are hardened, to strike softer wire nails. You are not supposed to strike two claw hammers together, although I believe Mythbusters determined this is not a big...

    LED cordless mechanics light?

I'm familiar with the 28-led light by Lawson Products, model FA5613. Mechanics use it at work in poor lighting industrial maintenance. I wrote it down but haven't gotten myself one yet. About $106.

Quick question about Autozone brake cleaner

" .... Phosgene is one of those things that even in absolutely minuscule (almost undetectable) amounts can do real damage, because it is a nerve agent. " I believe it is rather a pulmonary irritant, doing damage to the lungs. Bad stuff; used as a poison gas in World War 1.

    Floor Jack

Likewise here in favor of a green Sears jack from the mid-70s. 1-1/2 ton label rubbed away. In this picture I was illustrating my "attachment" for lifting at the pinch weld. For some reason, a couple years ago I fell to the lure of getting a cheap blue "michelin" labeled jack at Sam's Club...

Anybody replaced brakes on a 2005+ Honda accord?

On my daughter's '05 Accord, the piston on a rear caliper had extended out too far to fit the adjusting tool on it -- this tool looks like a small cube with different pins on the various sides. I ended up removing the caliper completely to the bench and starting it back in with channellocks...
