    Harbor Freight 44-inch toolboxes

Few months ago I picked up the 44" roller cabinet and the matching side cabinet. Check them over closely for damage! The side box had no visible packaging damage, but after driving an hour, opening the roller cabinet, finding it perfect. Left the side box alone for my 4 day work rotation. Then...

    Mystery Brackets

The gold plating is cadmium. Nasty stuff to breath if heating or grinding. If the color is real suttle, it's the real "old", and bad stuff! Otherwise, someone re-purposed some parts! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Thoughts on the compression numbers

I'd do a leak down cold and warm. Add a little oil to a low cylinder, see if that corrects the compression. A upper end teardown is needed really with those compression numbers. For regular street driving, it should be fine for a while. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Why do Metric socket sets skip some sizes?

Craftsman is great for only giving the popularly used sizes. I worked in aviation for many years. We pretty regularly used 11/32 inch wrench and socket. Outside of aviation, almost never! So I bought those less common sizes individually. They always had them on hand. Sent from my SM-G970U using...

Is my cherry picker cylinder shot?

There's a chance, just disassemble and clean the valve itself may cure your problem. Depends if the seal is cut, damaged, or just dirty. It could be a rubber seal, or metal seat. Had a floor jack from Fleet Farm that wouldn't stay up. Replaced what seals I could. Worked great. For a few years...

    Gravel driveway construction

When I was 20, I was the laborer/learning to run a skid steer. Dad was learning to drive a D8 cat. We were spreading 6" rock as a driveway base, using the d8 to push the rock in the dirt. Was spring, the ground was wet, so it wasn't difficult. About 8 inches crushed limestone to finish it off. A...

    Replacement windows for P/U Caps/Toppers

Windows are generic. Tough part is finding the correct replacement. I just googled, replacement topper windows. The front has angled sides I'm sure. Take your time measuring. I needed a front window with a slider. Was easy to swap. Then, same thing happened, tree branch broke a frameless side...

    Hitch Ball Question

I had one 20 years ago. Think it was my dad's also. As rusty as the ball is, throw it, buy a new one. I switched my one and only over to 2 inch years ago. More common today. You want everything to be nice and smooth so the ball doesn't get a twist from binding, and come loose. Sent from my...

are US General Tool Boxes Good, It appears they are very good? I own three shops in

They are good, but are made of softer steel. Don't over load them a ton, they're fine. Have them at work in a food manufacturing plant.. Just bought a roller chest for the garage. For the $$$, good deal!! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

Over 10K for a patio door installed

Renewal is expensive no matter how you look at it. It may be worth it, I don't know. They quoted me $10k for 3 windows, out of 10. My cost to buy the same pella windows, $3500 to 4k. I'll replace them myself, or find a contractor! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Garage cabinet

I've thought of the same thing. Looking at those used electronical cabinets in the recycle dumpster at work! How to get one without losing my job is the issue!! Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Intermittent garage door closing issue

If its a blocked, or partially blocked sensor, the light will flash multiple times. If the light doesn't flash, its the down pressure switch. It may be from binding, or just needing a little more pressure. The manual will say how to set it. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Cheap Toolboxes

Ralf11, I have that roller with a hand made side cabinet, with a counter top!. It's all from 1996. Made the side box and counter top when I worked for the airlines. It's used,, but good shape.. If your nearby $100! Southern Minnesota. Otherwise, buy a Harbor Freight. My opinion, can't beat the...

Anyone here bought a tool box with a lien against it?

Nah, I seen it when I worked in aviation. My $400 Craptsman tool box did the same job as Billy's $4000 box. Now that many of us are no longer employed in that field, I sleep at night knowing the little I spent really doesn't matter! Now, I've upgraded to HF for the garage! Can't beat $700 for...
