Who has installed AC in their garage?

5 ton unit in 6" stud insulated 2500 square foot shop. Haven't needed it yet since it's very shady and cool at night still

    Hellfire

Thanks for the info. I'm planning on welding blankets and the like. Found lots of scrap 1" square tubing 3/16" wall for a plasma table build. Nothing is perfect against liquid metal but I figure hellfire will stand up better than most.

    It's 12' for what you see. There is a corner area 15x15 that's 16' for the lift...that i don't have yet.

    Hellfire

Thanks to quarantine, I had enough time to finally lay down the hellfire. After hours of reading reviews, calling people, etc, I decided to go with hellfire. This is a shop floor and its purpose is absolutely function over form. Woodworking, welding fab, grease, motor oil, and whatever...

Expansion Joints - Fill or leave?

I used the legacy extreme 100 filler. hardest part was filling the cracks with super fine sand. Squirted the mixed compound on the floor and waited. it cured in less than 1 hour and I ground it flush when I ground the rest of the floor. It was mildly annoying to have the "overspray"...

    crossed threads

Thank you for all the help. Chased both the male and female threads last night. A lot of cutting on the male side. The chrome was fairly thick so alot of that came off from the tap too. All back together for mock up. will tear down again and thread lock it all, hopefully without...

    crossed threads

Motorcycle triple trees are held together with a large tapered threaded rod with M20x1.5 threads. The top triple tree is chromed with the same female threads. I didn't think I needed to chase the chromed threads and now the male piece appears cross-threaded, despite minimal effort on my part...

Best 4.5" angle grinder under $100

agree with both of these. the bosch is great for heavy stuff because it's super smooth. The Bauer was a steal at 35 bucks at HF in my opinion. I had a moment of weakness and bought an 18v milwaukee brushless grinder that is cordless. I was bracing my yard hydrants with t post and needed to...

Garage floor coatings - Too Many Options

I'm in the same boat as you, Kasander. I'm building a new shop. Doing everything from woodworking (planers/tablesaw/lathes) to restoring old cars/trucks (welding/grinding/plasma/oxyAcet torch). I really struggled to get away from the epoxy coatings. Talked to several of the vendors you've...

    Buying a welder...

lincoln mp210 machines had on CL around here for 1000 all day long. I ended up buying a Miller 211. IF you're doing auto body stuff, tig would be nice to have. Either way, I havent hit the rev limiter (duty cycle) on my 211 doing 1/4" plate building bumpers, land graders, etc. It's not...
