Help! - Older Craftsman Tool chest - lock pushed in

That picture helped a lot. Something happened to the rod, and it was set back a lot further than I would have expected. I was able to hold the rod up with a bent wire scrap and after some trial and error found a socket that would fit on it and got it open. Interesting to note the lock body is...

Help! - Older Craftsman Tool chest - lock pushed in

The entire lock assembly fell backwards into the drawer - plug and all. There is only the red sheetmetal of the body left. The rod goes from the front to the back of the cabinet (horizontally) not vertically, so it seems like twisting might be what needs to happen. Unfortunately my camera on...

Help! - Older Craftsman Tool chest - lock pushed in

Subroc, bottom box is the problem. Cruzan, No gap to see or look in. I only have the hole through which the lock body would have gone. If I look through I do see a rod that looks like it goes from the front to the back of the box

Help! - Older Craftsman Tool chest - lock pushed in

Sorry about that, the pic is one I found online. Not my box but the same model. The lower box, where you insert the key, somehow got pushed into the box and is not longer visible. Not sure how to open the box now

Help! - Older Craftsman Tool chest - lock pushed in

Need help opening my grandfather's tool chest He has this style of lower tool chest: When I moved, it looks like the lock itself (where the key goes) pushed into the cabinet and is no longer visible. The chest is locked and I can't open any of the drawers. I have no idea how to open it at...

    Anyone 3D print drawer organizers?

I looked those up and bins aren't really the route I want to go, despite they would be simple to print. I'm looking for wrench organizers that will hold them in order in the drawer and a socket organizer. Thought it would be cool to see if anyone has designed on they like here

    Anyone 3D print drawer organizers?

I have a new to me snapon box (KRA-377D) that I want to get some organizers for for sockets and wrenches. Another hobby I have is 3D printing. Has anyone done some 3D prints for drawer organizers? if so, share your cool designs!

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Figured this fits here. Posted its own thread a while ago, and I'm still working on cleaning it up. It's a KRA-377D and I think it was made in 72 or 73. Everything functional on it that I can tell

    Vintage snap-on box (ID'd as KRA-377D)

figured out how to take the drawers out, as they were a bit sticky when sliding. Looks like the previous owner lubed the slides with anti-seize. Stuffs nasty. Cleaned them up and a quick coat of the clean silicon spray and they are sliding pretty well now. might go back and put some white...

    Vintage snap-on box (ID'd as KRA-377D)

Ahh so it doesn't slide on a rail or in a slot or anything? interesting design. Where would I go about getting a new lock cylinder? Bought the box but no keys came with it. Luckily it was all unlocked lol

    Vintage snap-on box (ID'd as KRA-377D)

Winner Winner on the dating of the box. And thanks for the flashlight idea, completely forgot to do that. Found a stamping that it is a KRA-377D, and next to the Kenosha Wisc stamping is "72." Which fits with what you said about it being a 70's era box. Looking at this link...

Is it particularly rare? looking at that vintage snapon site and I don't see a box similar to it

    Vintage snap-on box (ID'd as KRA-377D)

Hoping to get some help IDing a new to me snapon box I got last week. I sent this pic to snapon and they said its either a KRA815 or a KRA380. Either way, they say they do not make parts for it anymore, and do not even have documentation for the part numbers for replacement slides / lock...
