    The Hayfield Shop

A few more pics from the inside. Gotta give a huge shout out to my Dad for all the help and support in this build. 86 years old and works circles around me. Another bonus was work letting me use our scissor lift for a "couple" of weeks over the holidays.

    The Hayfield Shop

Some of the details include, a 16X11 insulated overhead door with a Liftmaster shaft drive opener. I like a well lit building so we started with 6 windows for natural light and 9 4 bulb stainless steel T-45 fixtured my step daughter scored when her workplace swapped them out for LEDs. The walls...

    The Hayfield Shop

Here are some progress pics. We spent most of the first summer building the structure. I had to hire out the trusses, roof and siding.

    The Hayfield Shop

I started this build about 2 years ago by purchasing a Menards 30X40X12 garage kit with delayed delivery. I want to start this thread to show where I've been in the process and get input and feedback on where I'm going. At this point I'm tired of working "on" the shop and want to work "in" the...

    My droptop garage build.

Over 4 years since my last post... Time has changed things a bunch. A divorce, selling the house, remarriage, a new house and a new 30x40 shop build over the last couple of years. My biggest lesson is I'm not 30 anymore! LOL!! I plan to update this thread with my new Hayfield shop.

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT A trip back from the edge.

I spent the last few days going through your thread... WOW!! Lots of cool projects! I get to start on a "sheep shed" for the Mrs. she's got her heart set on a couple of babydoll sheep.

    My droptop garage build.

Well, a year and a half later... I'm looking to get back on track once the weather breaks. Wiring, lighting, insulation and heat are the primary projects, aside from some major organization. I picked up 14 4 bulb fluorescent fixtures. After giving a few to friends I should still have plenty of...

biro 22 band saw can I convert it to cut metal

The meat saws I have seen do not have much if anything for blade guides. If so it could run into a bunch of fabrication.

Thanks for both the compliment and the advice. I wasn't really thinking about durability or discoloration. I just liked the look. I kinda want something different than a plain wall. I'm planning on OSB on the top and keeping my wall of peg board on the top of the end wall.

    My droptop garage build.

So, a couple of weeks have gone by and there's been tons of house projects to do, no time for the garage. I've had a couple of projects in there but no progress on the garage itself.

    My droptop garage build.

At present the walls are covered with water damaged panelling on the bottom and deteriorated drywall on the top. The north wall, (far end from the house) has the top half completely covered with peg board. The plan is to insulate the walls and ceiling, install additional outlets and a bunch of...

    My droptop garage build.

The Hayfield Shop Well, here goes again, I had a post written and while reviewing the post I closed my browser... AAARRRGGGHHHH! Here's the skinny, The house was built in 1955 (3 years older than me). I grew up on the next street over and walked by this house while in elementary school. We...
