Guys - you're awesome. Better info than I had hoped for! Definitely had remnants of red paint on it, but I'm a sucker for machine green. Coincidentally, I have some framed vintage newspaper ads of personal significance on one wall in the garage...gonna HAVE to add that one for sure!

Here’s my Columbian Vise I recently got from my late grandfather’s workbench. Did a quick and dirty “restoration,” wanting to retain the dents and blemishes. Would love to know more about it if anyone knows anything. Other side has (stamped? Not raised) Columbian Pats Pending. V

Inherited this one from my gramps. Looks a little less complete and not as old as some of yours, but “this one is mine.”

I just scored a steel tank that I want to use to expand air capacity. What’s the best way to clean rust from the inside, or is it even necessary? Also, favorite place to buy tank fittings (like thread-o-lets/ bungs, drains, pressure gauges, valves, etc! Thanks in advance, Evan

Funny, first one I picked up was a Raleigh (cream colored pic- all I had on phone), and next I nabbed was a Fuji (green bike pic). Was on a kick with some buds. We had more fun finding cheap old bikes and fixing them up than we did riding them.

Scored a junk air cleaner lid and turned into a functional wall hanger for the garage.

Picked up a little metal sign at swap meet yesterday. Thought it was an easy way to dress up a cheap Chinese cord reel.

Depends how much you can live with. You could grind through that to smooth it out with diamond pads and water, but they are expensive, and you might burn through to the aggregate. Cheaper option, although demoralizing, would be to scrap it and start over. This time, follow the proper...

For what it’s worth, I get way better results using the brush on product than with the spray cans. Generally thick enough and hammered enough that brush marks are a non issue.

Lot of naysayers who don’t appear to be listening. It sounds like it is NOT intended to be used as a real work bench. Also, I don’t believe a lot of have ever touched or seen a concrete counter, much less built one. Anyway, endless ways to do it. You said polished, and you can do that, but...
