    Vulcan Equipment Two-Post Lift

Quick update on the Wreck Room... Lifts are bring delivered Monday after lunch, which will be about 4 hours after an expected 4" snow is supposed to conclude. Spent 7 hours in the as yet unheated Wreck Room today shoving a couple of Wrecks outside (and tarping them up so a couple of neighbors...

Request for interest: garage LED lighting

I am looking at both Cree (based here in Wisconsin - prefer to keep it as local as possible!) and Nichicon. I have LED lighting system power supply design experience so what I am considering is a system. Perhaps putting together a checklist for people to order what they want (number of strings...

    Vulcan Equipment Two-Post Lift

Thread update: lifts ordered... In keeping with refreshing old threads that I started, this past September I ordered three, 4-post 'storage' lifts and an asymmetrical 2-post from Rotary. I struggled with what I could afford vs. customer support vs. 'what my gut says'. The 4-post lifts are...

Request for interest: garage LED lighting

Wow thanks for all the tentative interest and sagely words of caution (light output vs. CO$T)! Please also accept my apologies for the delayed reply to this thread. As December unfolds, I will both be sending some PMs to you as well as providing updates to this endeavor. Belated Happy...

Request for interest: garage LED lighting

Hi everyone, Although we are best known for the RediRad, we are considering branching out into shop lighting, using LEDs. These little critters make a lot of light, can be used as under-cabinet and/or indirect illumination and we believe that the time right for this in the enthusiast's garage...

    building a mezzanine

Hey, errbody... I neglected to followup on the mezzanine technology that I used. Go to: http://www.lwstructures.com/ and http://www.lwstructures.com/portfolio.html to see some of their builds. FWIW, mine is the first one on the list. Any questions, please ask.

Concrete soon to pour. Need advise

Hi mybuickgs- See attached for how I did it. I have three separate circuits that are 'zoned'. That allows me to keep the (eventual) storage half cooler than the work area. Also notice the two 3' x 3' keep-out areas for the 2-post Bend-Pak (a future purchase). Going on the advice of someone...

    Cheap Dickies Work Jeans

I am all about the Dickies flat-front Navy or Black work pant. They wear like iron. But, 4 pr of jeans and 2 grey Ike coats later, I am also sayin' thanks for the heads up. Still, it's hard to believe they offer a lifetime warranty on the jeans...you can bet your rivets I am keeping my receipt!

    Official Fridge Transformation Thread

A comment and then my fridge... A-MEN, truckdriver. Style is worth paying for. In addition, I disagree with speculative claims of "triple the operating costs" and all that ... I put a W-h meter on my '57 Philco and found it uses 23% more energy than the late-model boring white box in our...

    Working Space around a car

    Working Space around a car

I designed mine to have a 30 x 20 work area, with benches and one lift, plus a 30 x 20 storage area. The work area will have about 20' long x 3' deep worth of benches against the wall. A 40" wide staircase shortens the 30' down but basically I will have a 26' x 13' work area. '62 Pontiacs are...

    Vulcan Equipment Two-Post Lift

Thanks for the replies, gents. The lift I am considering could be 30 years old (certainly 20) considering the area code on the phone number predates the current area code for the town the dealer was in. I will contact them (the Canadians) on Monday and see what's what. If I don't go for this...
