Poly on walls does more harm than good in most climates. Something like Certainteed membrain is a much better choice if you feel more comfortable having something, but your corrugated metal is going to be basically vapor impermeable anyway so it seems redundant to me.
I'd probably caulk the...
Hi all!
I bought an old Craftsman compressor to have something I can throw in the truck bed (using the word throw loosely here, it takes two people or ramps) and take with me if I need air away from the house. Paid $60, can't complain too much.
I tore it down to hydro the tank and found the...
I bought a HF vibratory polisher and it's doing good work on the hardware. Before/After.
I'll likely replace some of the hardware (like this bolt) due to rounded heads etc. I'm still trying to find stuff that's not bright gold finish in a Grade 5 or above bolt in 7/16-14.
Well, buying a house was a much bigger drag on my free time than I could have ever expected, and then we had a baby. So this poor guy sat for a long time. I finally started carving out time to work on it as the wife got tired of how much space it was taking up in the basement.😂
I started with...
Covering that hardwood was a crime!
If you find the Varathane doesn't hold up (not sure if you bought stuff specifically for hardwood floors or not), I've been extremely pleased with the Poloplaz Primero Satin we had put down on our hardwood floors. So pleased that it's become my go-to finish...
Pretty close to all of the 3-ton labeled units out there.
Ordered one of those daisy wheels from eBay. Thanks for that link. If I upgrade the press I'll likely transfer the wheel, they look like a nice upgrade from the cast iron ones that come with these presses.
Needed an arbor press, this popped up cheapish ($150) 5 minutes from my house.
Any easy way to distinguish between 1/2/3 ton units (arbor size?) The arbor is about an inch and a half square.
It needs a new anvil or whatever the little round part that sits on the base is called. Any good...
Yeah I'm stumped as to why I've gotten two with bad wifi. I checked the output voltage on my furnace and it's right at the normal 27.x unloaded voltage you'd expect to see from a 24vac control system.
Well you guys jinxed me. My one year out of warranty nest quit connecting to my wifi last night.
I've escalated the case with Google because this is the second unit I've had fail in the same manner (thought the first was a fluke) but I'm not hopeful.
