1/2 ratchets, flex head, snap on/gearwrench etc?

I use half inch drive very frequently. Followed by 3/8 and in just recently bought a 1/4 socket set as I hardly ever use anything that small. I'm far from inexperienced abut ratchets... im not a mechanic by any means, But I've always just made do with whatever, now I have a bit more leeway to...

1/2 ratchets, flex head, snap on/gearwrench etc?

So I'm in the market for a 1/2 drive flex head ratchet.. med length. I've never bought snap on always had cheaper mastercaft from Canadian tire (canada here) Then added a 3/8 tekton socket set and an additional 3/8 tekton flex head long handle that I love. And recently a gear wrench 1/4 set that...

    Enclosed trailer setup/tool shop/storage

So I won't have a garage since I'm losing my current one and will be renting without a work space. I do have a 7x16 enclosed trailer, I have a engine drive welder and engine drive air compressor I inherited and my projects usually are automotive and welding related. I'd like to setup my trailer...

    Buying a lathe

I usually have enough projects that just need a pin turned to size or a bushing, simple tools/pieces for repairs etc that it would be very useful for. Nothing complex or fine tolerance work, If I did indeed enjoy it then could pursue more advanced etc. I'm no stranger to dirty work, already...

    Buying a lathe

So I'm going to look at a standard modern tomorrow. He doesn't seem to know much think he's selling it for his father but looks like a 11x20 series 2000 is my guess. Comes with decent tooling, $1200. If it's not totally wore out should be a good machine? Even if I ended up needing to sell it I...

    Buying a lathe

I was in contact with him and he said it's sold. Listing still up though. I did contact the king 10x22 has someone else interested, I was offering $1500 he said $1600 min. I thought maybe as a earning lathe It could still be ok?

    Buying a lathe

I do have a friend that knows more about it than I do. My grandfather was a machinist but unfortunately has been gone for a while and I was too young to be interested in this or appreciate his knowledge. I'd have no problems going with a newer import machine if It was going to be decent for a...

    Buying a lathe

Yeah I probably would have started with something like the south bend but here they are all priced starting at like $1800 and up.. for $500 i'd probably pick one up to learn on play around with. How is the precision Mathews? Happy with that size?

    Buying a lathe

Thanks, I'd hate to get something that I outgrow too quick or regret. Been looking on and off for a while but haven't pulled the trigger yet

    Buying a lathe

I've wanted to learn about machining, Mostly for simple stuff such as bushings and turning pins etc for projects. Been looking for A used lathe but not really many that seem like decent deal. Right now I'm not really limited by space I found a 12x36 "king industrial" which I beleive is the...

Milwaukee sockets and opened end wrenches?

I don't think the Milwaukee hand tools are really worth buying, not that they're bad but probably better options for import tools. Tekton would likely be a good starting point, mostly Taiwan made, some usa made and some china but I believe the wrench's are Taiwan.

Just curious what steel price are these days for new channel tube plate etc. And if anyone's priced aluminum? Been a while since I've bought any but had a few projects might want to do. Last time I priced was few yrs ago channel .60 a pound and tube anywhere from .80 to over a buck a pound for...
