It might be too late but check out my thread for my project. I prepped my 3 car floor in stages and had everything ready for my Armorpoxy and then moved my lift to one side and did all 3 steps and let cure for 1 week and then rolled the lift to the finished side and then completed the 3 step on...
Just wanted to give an update on the floor and progress on my garage. I moved the lift this weekend and the spots below the bases are in great shape, no marks or staining. This floor is very easy to clean up with some soap and water. I've got one spot where I filled in the control joint that...
Instead of cutting the concrete back would it be easier to adjust the track of the door and adjust your trim?
If you decide to cut the concrete, either the circular saw with proper blade or the angle grinder should make quick work of this. If you use the circular saw, setup a straight edge to...
I installed the ArmorUltra last year and broke my project into two big sections and can't see a line. I haven't had any issues where the two sections meet. Highly recommend but don't do any coating without a respirator.
I purchased my 4 post lift from GregSmithequipment.com and I think the same combo in the OP would be $4000 with free shipping at GregSmith. I couldn't be happier with my lift, best $$ I've ever spent. I have the RJ-35 jacks and they work great and are very heavy but they slide well on the...
I purchased a 4 post lift from Greg Smith along with the hydraulic jacks. Me and about 6 buddies installed it and feel that it's the best $$ ever spent. I store and work on cars very easily and makes oils changes, brake bleeds and any work at the wheels so easy. I've had it for over 6 years...
Did they unhook the cable from the bottom of the door while it was open and the tension off the cables or did they pop the cables and let the Liftmaster hold the full tension? I would not pull the cord on the liftmaster unless you know that the door springs aren't under any pressure.
I used a 4 1/2" Dewalt Grinder on my Porter Cable. Just make sure you keep it moving as it works fast on concrete even with light pressure. I bought a dust shield but was a waste of money as it went everywhere.
FP,
I'll let others that have more experience using the race deck tiles but I would repair the cracks and have been happy with the Ardex Feather product but I wonder if you would encourage mold growth when using landscape fabric or anything below the tiles. Another idea to research would be to...
I wanted to share an idea that I have for those that have 4 post lifts. I wanted to get my post bases off the floor to prevent water from getting trapped between the base and my new epoxy coated floor. I don't want any rust stains. The folks at RaceDeck took very good care of me and was able to...
I was able to put my Military topcoat down last night and had better uniformity on the Ultrawear friction additive. After doing the steps the 2nd time around was much easier. I cut in my edges first without adding the FA and then added it and pour 1/4 of my topcoat at a time and rolled out in 7...
Round 2- vacuum other half of garage and put down my ArmorPoxy II primer and let it cure overnight. The smell with this primer is strong. Don't do this without a respirator. This morning I inspected the floor and using a razor blade I removed some small bits of gravel than was picked up when...
It's been a lot of work but can't thank the team at ArmorPoxy enough for all the support and even responding to some questions over the weekend including Labor Day!!
One more tidbit for other DIY'ers contemplating this project is to purchase a respirator. Don't think you can tough it out...
