I believe they are barrel nuts, if you find the correct size socket and push it on the backside of the pin it will compress and the emblem and barrel nuts comes out.
If you want to connect the locker to the top box or put it on the side of the box without the holes for the handle you need to drill some holes.
It just depends on if you want to move the box and setup preferences.
Use a swedge nut in the hole you drill in the box so you don't have to have a nut...
I just put a strap all the way around both and tightened the strap just enough the locker didn't touch the box and jacked the locker up to the right height tightened the strap to push the j hook into the gap and slowly let the locker down the 3/8" .
Takes 5-10 minutes.
I'm not going to tell you...
