I don't know why I didn't think of this!
I've been going back and forth between doing full sheets of plywood or some sort of 1x plank. This is brilliant and will give the extra texture I was looking for, make it easier to install and not be unnecessarily thick. Brilliant. Thank you!
Nice build!
We have some similar aspects - scissor trusses, high lift doors etc. I have high hopes of added a pool and a pool house type space to the back as well one day.
Nice pair of cars you got there too!
totally agree but I do like the black "ceiling" look. the ceilings in mine are high enough that I won't be messing with them. My thought was drywall painted black with recessed lighting strips. We'll see. that's likely years away.
This is incredible. I know the big projects get the most attention around here but to me there is nothing better then an efficient purpose built space.
Your rendering on the first page reminded me of this:
I have no doubt. I know even the things we've been working on inside the house have gone insane from pre to post pandemic.
The garage doors were a bit one for me since they're street facing and really the first thing you see when you pull in the driveway. The contractor kept telling me it was...
Awesome build!
My project had a similar scope initially but was slowly cut down to a single floor 30X40. I fought similar variance issues as well and stopped just short of connecting mine to my house after the variance for height was approved.
We also have similar taste in cars :)
It’s my first time seeing this thread after taking a few years off myself.
Fantastic build and fantastic thread. A few too many BMWs for my liking but we won’t hold that against you :)
