    Window unit into the wall

I did something similar, but because half of my shop is not heated or cooled, I installed the unit on an inside wall under a stairwell so it's out of the way.

    Geothermal heating for House

We live in North Texas where cooling is a bigger issue than heating, and am on my third geothermal system in nineteen years. The first was a closed loop, four well, four-ton attic-mounted Trane, in a 2800 sq ft, all electric home, that was well insulated by 1996 standards. Compared to the...

    Does anyone have geothermal heating?

My wells are 250', but here in Texas cooling is more of a concern than heating.

    Does anyone have geothermal heating?

I've built and lived in three different homes in the past twenty years, and all have had geothermal. Prior to building, I have lived in homes with natural gas and traditional AC, heat pump for both, fuel oil, coal, and even wood for heat with no AC. The heat pump was okay, but I lived in the...

The outer walls are insulated and the roll-up door is insulated, but the contractor screwed up and decked the ceiling before it was insulated, so that will be done at a later time. Propane is possible, but I'm not enthused about using any heater with open flame in a workshop environment. If I...

In previous smaller garages, I've been able to keep a comfortable work temperature with the use of an electric space heater. Now that I have more square footage to heat, I'll have to go with a better heat source. My working space is divided into two areas of roughly 250 sqft and 350 sqft. They...

    Another one from Texas...

We just built a new retirement home near Fort Worth, and I finally have the garage/workshop I've wanted for years. The house is complete, but the garage is still a work in progress, so because it's colder than it should ever get in Texas, I'll go ask my first question on the heating and cooling...
