    Wetzler Clamp question

Those are highly regarded clamps. I have a dozen or so and a couple are missing letters as well. May have been a casting flaw during the productions process, not uncommon from what I have seen.

Kroil now available at Advance Auto Parts

I used to order from Kano Labs directly and they stopped shipping directly to consumers a few years ago. Grainger carries this too, but Advance is so much closer to me. I have had a great experience with this stuff and a little goes a long way.

Let's see your vintage drill bit indices

I picked up this J.R. Wood Supply Co. index which is brass and I would date to the 20s or early 30s. I have not seen another one and thought it should be represented here.

    Old Drill Shock

Does the drill have a ground prong on the cord? Many times old tools do not have a grounding wire. It may be worth taking apart and finding what wiring is leaking and replacing some leads, or covering them with heat shrink tubing and then adding a grounding wire for insurance against future...

Let's see your vintage drill bit indices

Its been a while since I've posted. Wanted to post a couple I have not seen represented yet. First is a Montgomery Wards, the second pic are 2 Wells Brothers (which are super early and very rare). The last picture is a NOS Union Card index. I have a metric Standard Tool Co that I'll have to...

    Clausing Drill Press

Generally the morse taper presses were used in metal working environments, while the jacobs chuck models were used for wood working. Slower speed is preferred when drilling metal, and vise versa for wood. This explains the difference in speed you mentioned. Chuck up a bit or better yet a...

    Clausing Drill Press

I stand corrected that would be a model 1647 because of the morse taper. The taper is above the drill chuck and serves as a socket for I believe number 2 morse taper drill bits or tooling, including the arbor on the chuck currently installed. To remove the chuck you would insert a taper drift...

    Clausing Drill Press

That's a model 1654. Check out OWWM plenty of info over there. http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=17820 There is also a link to the manual under publications, look for 15 inch press info. Nice drill press.

Harbor Freight 3 Ton Daytona Jack Versus Snap On FJ300 Jack

I just read that Snapon has filed a lawsuite against harbor freight because of similarities in appearance, etc. https://www.biztimes.com/2016/09/22/snap-on-suing-harbor-freight-over-floor-jacks/
