    Hobby, Home Repairman

Beware of Amazon and Grainger prices. Grainger's website is good for locating what you want, but then check prices somewhere else. Cordless tools can't be recharged forever and are much more expensive than corded, so be sure you'll need them before buying them. I'm not sure exactly how long...

why cant i do a reply in the classified section

I think classifieds are good, but it actually may be better not to have them here if there will be no comments. Without clissifieds here, sellers may post where comments (which often provide buyers with more information, especially if they're questions that are publically answered) are allowed...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Someone is using a little lot of mine illegally and this is their toolbox. I gave them until the end of the month to clean up. I may take it home if he doesn't but I'll have to look it over better.

why cant i do a reply in the classified section

Actually, I might have been in favor of no comments but the philosophy of rubbed me the wrong way. It sounds like "whatever kind of scam we're running here, it shouldn't be interfered with."

why cant i do a reply in the classified section

Anything that helps prevent ripoffs is more important than that. I was looking for masonry bits so I used the search feature to search for them. Bumped messages are no big deal. There are several pages of recent posts even now so the search feature is a good idea anyway. Instead of just...

why cant i do a reply in the classified section

I didn't give this much thought before reading some of these comments, but now I'm pro-comments. The rule about not making a profit is a little weird though.

Giving T-handle balance to hammer drill

It's because I'm strong that I'd consider rigging a counter weight. I'd probably prefer balance over saving a couple of pounds.

Giving T-handle balance to hammer drill

I know. I'd only use it when not using it as a hammer drill. People are always talking about how you could turn off the hammer action for wood or hanging a picture hook but the balance is all wrong. I want to hang drywall with one hand on the drill without worrying that the weight will push the...

Giving T-handle balance to hammer drill

Do they make some kind of counterweight or wrist harness or sliding handle or something to make it easier to use a hammer drill as a one handed wall drilling drill for hanging pictures, drywall, etc.?

1" hole in concrete with 1/2" hammer drill?

Not enough outlets to avoid an extension cord unless I get a drill with a 12 foot cord. I thought my $100 limit was generous until now.

Do you buy every small metal "handbox" toolbox you see too? Post 'em up!

Re: Do you buy every small metal "handbox" toolbox you see too? Post 'em up! I'd be into that if more boxes had flat tops with recessed handles and no sloped sides. I discovered that packaging tape doesn't stick forever and some of my cardboard boxes fell apart.

1" hole in concrete with 1/2" hammer drill?

That's probably more expensive because I'd have to do the entire hallway for it to look right, and maybe the entire living room, and replacing the cables would be harder. Raceway Crown is removable but there's still the cost and apartment matching issue and I'm not sure I knew about it before...

1" hole in concrete with 1/2" hammer drill?

Only half of one of the two walls that the cable is going across is hollow, and I want it user friendly for whoever the next tenant is. It may have to be replaced some day. I may run CAT 6 through it too.

1" hole in concrete with 1/2" hammer drill?

I'm building a soffit to hide coaxial cables. The soffit won't go the whole route of the cables because of appearance and the fact that it would make it harder to move furniture through the hallway into the bedroom and because fishing the cable would be harder through a soffit with an extra 90...
