    Ideas for welding table base

So, following the lead from someone's comments in the Re-purposing thread, I went to the scrap yard and found a nice table saw top to use as a welding table. However, my temporary Keggle base just won't do. I don't currently have a space for a permanent table. So, I'd like to make a removable...

Tig - some recycling and a tungsten vise

I am pissed now that I tossed my toasted Dremel. In a house wiring error on remodel job, 110 plug was getting 220. Ooops! Plugged in the Dremel and.... POP!!! No more Dremel. Anyways, so sorry for the stupid question, but is the point of this a tungsten tip grinding holder for tig, or did...

    Shop Vac Replacement Can??

I would look at a site like US Plastics for as close as possible sized bucket. There are lots of hacks out there where people turn 5G buckets into cyclone vacs....... OR keep on eye on CL. LOTS of shop vacs on there.

    Help with weld issue

Well, I went home and took the torch apart and reassembled. Nothing in backwards etc. I made sure to open the bottle valve all the way. I rechecked my settings on the machine and left them were they were. I cleaned the surface really well. And, as you can tell buy reading this, I did NOT...

    Help with weld issue

Thanks for all the help. I hope to get at it tonight. I also appreciate all the good info. Like I said, I have been practicing for several months now and made some pretty nice welds. From the first time until now, the only other time I have had this issue (which includes pulsing with the...

    Help with weld issue

That's at least 1/8" metal, DC Neg, the black spots are bubble/pepper not burn through, my heat was low enough I could have sat there and not burned through for a bit. Like I said, even from the FIRST time TIG'ing, I've never had this happen. @Steel 35, I currently reside in the Emerald...

    Help with weld issue

So, I finally got parts for my tig torch back and for the first time I am having this problem with my welds on mild steel. I'm a total new trying to practice and am not sure what this means. I tried turning up and down the heat/argon, with no real correction. suddenly I am thinking the torch...

    Re-furb my grinder?

I have had an 8" Ryobi (I know cheap ****...it was a gift) bench grinder I've had for almost a decade. The other day I turned it on and saw some magic smoke out the back. It started not really wanting to start in the correct direction and with a jump start in the correct direction, it didn't...
