Added a wall mounted fan today

Oh wow I just did the exact same thing. The mini split puts out plenty cool air but it does not really circulate the air in the garage. I put a 16" fan in the corner and it does a great job of getting air all over the garage. Agreed on the 'aim at engine bay' deal too. Funny when you move in...

24x38 3 car Garage MiniSplit Sizing

Just finished last weekend with installing my daikin 18k. Now I went above and beyond on the install and still dont see where the two quotes I got came from money wise. I bought the unit for 1400. The two quotes I received were 3950 and 4200. A friend who is an ac tech is going to do the...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Installed 6 fixtures and still have six to go. I am fully impressed with the setup in the first post. This is with no drywall yet and the change is beyond dramatic. The 4k bulbs are great too. Thanks so much Platonic.

Upgrading home HVAC - do I need a bigger main panel?

If you have all gas appliances a 100 amp might be okay. 100 amp is really marginal in today's power hungry society. If all your appliances like water heater, dryer, stove and range are electric then a 200 amp service should be considered. It may even be code in your area.

What caused this - burned neutrals in panel

Never seen an electrician with a torque wrench. Maybe I was hiring the wrong guys I dont know. I typically tighten the heck out of them. Probably the wrong way but that's what I've seen licensed dudes do around here with forearms like Popeye. Oh and I've seen them do an annual PMI on a panel...

    proper temp drop per hour?

Well I'll tell you what happened in my current house. We could not get the humidity down in this house when we first moved in. Same thing in that the temp would say 78 but it felt like 90. So we called an hvac company and found that the return duct to the air handler had a massive hole in it...

What does the consumption side of this wiring look like? As in the outlets on the circuit?

What caused this - burned neutrals in panel

I think that corrosion is a correlation of the heat in the area probably reaching above 350C maybe more. This heat likely broke the corrosion layer of the copper and caused accelerated corrosion in the area. What's odd to me is the apparent skip level damage of the wire burns. The wire with...
