    Show us your welding projects

I was tired of plastic oil-catch-drain-things that were too small and leaked so I built this. It'll hold a few gallons of whatever fluid I'm draining in to it. I have a plastic insert to thread into the elbow and some tubing that drops down to an empty container on the floor. When it's...

    Gutter installation problem/question

Yeah those brackets would seem to work better but I've already bought all the hangers already. Although looking at the "saddle" seems like an option I could do. The pics are kind of deceiving as they are all looking up. If I had a straight on shot you would see that the board that the drip...

    Gutter installation problem/question

I'm about to hang gutters on the backside of my house and I'm running into a problem with the slanted fascia. I have gutter wedges to negate the angle but I'm worried that if I put any slope along the run of the gutters then it will bring the hangers down too far on the fascia. You can see in...

    Unicorn inspired torture tool?

Wow that was fast, thanks! Now I can keep it around the toolbox and when somebody asks I can say "That? Oh that's just an everyday, run of the mill, rotary splitting maul." :bounce:

    Unicorn inspired torture tool?

I found this among my grandad's tools and have no clue what it would be used for. I think it's brass but I've been wrong once or twice in my life. So useful tool with a purpose or something from satan's tool box?

A "decal" that looks like a window ...

I've considered doing this before. The easiest way I've figured out to do it is find an image large enough to be printed the size of your "window", and find a local place that has a wide format printer like wolf camera, staples, etc. Ask them to print it out to the size of your window. Mount...

    1940's drill press

Thanks man! I'd say yours cleaned up pretty well. I like the dark color, the black and the silver are going to look great together. Post more pictures when you get everything back together.

    1940's drill press

Those new handles look pretty sweet! I wish I had come across this thread earlier because I have an extra set of handles. I found a perfect set on ebay to replace the ones I had because the threaded part on one was bent. When I cleaned mine up I just ran an orbital sander along the post, it...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Lol, thanks.....it's got some pretty deep marks on it. I got so excited when starting the process that I forgot to get a good first image.....so here it is exploded. Then this is it after grime removal and some wire wheeling.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I just finished "restoring" the vise from my grandad's shop. It's pretty beat up but it's cool to see how much he used it. Luckily years worth of grime kept it rust free.
