    250 V 50 A sockets

One reason for electricians favoring lower mounted, higher amperage outlets is they usually get heavy cords plugged in to them. The higher above the floor the outlets are installed in the wall, the more weight and strain the heavy cords place on the receptacle when they are plugged in. jmo

    How to demolish old garages?

Disregard my post to burn as I just looked at your pics. Just tear it down in reverse of the way it was built. Rip off shingles, roof sheetings, rafters, ceilings joists, on down etc. I have torn small houses down by hand when I was 20 y.o. some forty years ago. The pull down with a truck thing...

    rafters vs trusses

Not unless you use engineered floor joists. Single joists would have to sit on a beam and overlap in the middle to span 22 feet, and I am sure you dont want a beam running down the middle of your garage. Get trusses built, with the storage access openings built in to them. Lot better way to go...

    Copper conductors size

I miked the bare copper conductor. It wasnt much difference if I recall, something like .003. Could have just been a extruder machine malfunction back in 1968 or a employee back then that was happy and said, I'll just give someone , somewhere some better wire today ! :)

    Copper conductors size

Probaly has been on topic before here but I'll just refresh the newbies electrical curiosty here. .. I was doing some rewiring a while back in my home that was built in 1968. I took a old metal outlet box out of the wall with the 1968 vintage old 12-2 nm/g romex in it. The #12 conductor seemed...

    Conduit Support

This ^^^^ Need to be aware that the weight of damp soil will always be pulling downward on the conduit and it is a PVC system. .

    Power for future welder

Best welder fo car restoration is a MIG due to the necessity to weld the thinner body panels. You can get by with a 120 volt MIG for panel work but I would go with a 220 volt mig in case there is some 3/8 inch + metal somewhere in the future to weld. 50 amp circuit covers all bases. jmo

how long does your standard $2 light switch last?

I have had the .50 single pole switches from Lowes last for 10 + years and still going. Might want to get your "pro" friend back. The two wires under one screw needs re-done and the "push in conductor" needs removed and wrapped around the screw clockwise and torqued down or, use a new switch...

Color Code for 220 V plugs

Thanks Stu for the manual. It states it needs a dedicated 220V /30 amp receptacle outlet. I take that to mean it is portable, with cord male plug cap/wall or floor outlet connection. Probaly does not state what plug specifications(NEMA configuration) to use because of what country it may end...

Color Code for 220 V plugs

The manu is probaly giving the customer the option of making a cord connected /wall receptacle installation OR using a disconnect at the lift's ceiling/vertical connection point. ... The unit will either need to be within 50 ft. line of sight from its breaker/fusebox and just put its cord...
