    Gillette 4250W Alternator power head

I have one that sounds identical to that on an 8hp B&S engine along with the framework around it. Works fine when I’ve needed it.

rmanrman, I’ve got the same ones I think, I just stream pandora..... seems to be less ads anyway. Might not be an option for you.

    Wood hole saw kit

I just buy the ones I need, I like the Milwaukee mandrels and have had good luck with Milwaukee or Dewalt saws. Btw, I mostly use them for coping 2-3/8 and 2-7/8 pipe for making pipe fences so they take a beating. I have a few larger for putting in lights in the ceiling and stuff like that also.

Plumbing Conundrum - Sink with no hot water but great flow rate

I would turn off the hot at the water heater as previously stated and see if you still have flow at the hot side on the sink..... that gives you some idea what to look for......possibly.

    Compressor Tank Advice

The "weld" on that tank looks awful, I wouldn't trust it.

    String Trimmer Finally Died

Still, Husky or Echo. I have an Echo PAS 265 (takes different attachments) it's been no trouble for the 12 years or so I've had it, always starts after 2-3 pulls.

Tried amazon? I've had good luck entering part #'s before. I did a quick search and it came up with one for liftmaster.

    Auto darkening welding helmet, advice?

$250 is kind of middle ground..... for really nice ones. I would surf amazon and look at what's available from miller, Jackson, etc. avoid the no-names. How big of a field of view, clarity, adjustability is why the the price goes up. I have a Miller Digital Elite that I really like. I see it...

First welding project - behind-the-couch table

Wire brush the inside..... the smaller brushes should fit ok.

Looking for a new Jig Saw

I have a Bosch JS572EK, it's a top handle model. Makes pretty nice cuts, has a dual roller guide for the blade, easy to change blades, variable speed, light, dust blower, etc.... really can't say anything bad about it. A little over your price range.
