1980's Weaver AFH-70-B auto lift restoration

I guess im a bit late on following up on this. I did finish the project. I had a dustless blast guy come blast the towers and then I painted them blue using automotive paint. Everything else was blasted and painted as well. The arms and drive over cover were powdercoated as well as some other...

    Make your own Dustless Blaster?

I agree, he is spot on, I would like to try one more time to make this work effectively (I feel I need to now that I have come this far) but if it doesnt I will GLADLY hire someone and then tell my wife i did it anyway because no way will I give her that kind of satisfaction, ha!

1980's Weaver AFH-70-B auto lift restoration

Its been awhile since I started this, I have blasted many of the pieces. My stumbling block has been getting the towers blasted for new paint. I have sourced new bearings and hydraulic seals and other odds and ends to have a rebuilt lift once done. Here are a few pics of my progress, albeit a...

    Make your own Dustless Blaster?

Found this on youtube, I think it is the way to make the best out of a homemade setup.

    Make your own Dustless Blaster?

I did some work on this recently. The delay has been due to not liking the results on my first attempt and also realizing i wanted to do the bottoms of my lifts first and that meant tipping them back over and then getting them vertical again, something i did not want to have to do, they are...

    Make your own Dustless Blaster?

i think the flow rate of the pressure washer has a lot to do with effectiveness of the dustless blaster system, many washers are rated at sub 3gpm and i dont think it is enough flow to carry enough of the media for a decent result. I did not like the smaller nozzle offered by northern tool for...

    Make your own Dustless Blaster?

Looking to do some dustless blasting because from the videos Ive watched, it seems to work quite well and i like the idea of the media not blowing back at me on its own like typical blasting can do. So here is my question and Im open to suggestions, how would you go about making your own setup...

1980's Weaver AFH-70-B auto lift restoration

Not sure if this is quite vintage enough but i know a few others have restored lifts and since id love to get some input and share the project with everyone on here, this thread should do the trick, any input is welcome, since i have very little clue what i'm doing. I purchased this lift since...

shipping tire changer on its back, bad idea?

Im trying to get a tire machine shipped to me and one shipper is offering cheaper shipping but could only get it to me by laying the machine on its back. Does anyone know if this is a bad idea or if it will not matter? thanks, rick

Suggestions for a 10' workbench top?

no since its inside it is fine and you can always sand it if you want to polish it up. you can also do SS or aluminum but it is much more costly. ive had mine for over a year (1.5 years or so) and it doesnt get rust.

Suggestions for a 10' workbench top?

find a steel supplier, for not too much, few hundred, you can purchase sheet steel, have them bend the edge into a C shape so it is nicely finished. put 2 layers of plywood underneath it and have the bend fit the edge of the plywood, it will secure it on the front and you can screw the back...

"dry" 80 gallon air tank in unconditioned attic

doesnt have a drain in the diagram so wasnt planning one, supposed to be dry and have no reason for a drain. im worried if moisture is removed and then stored in the dry tank, what happens when it gets heated up from the summer heat in the attic?

"dry" 80 gallon air tank in unconditioned attic

Im trying to decide what to do. I had another post about air filter order and I believe that is decided. now im wondering about putting the "dry" 80 gallon air storage tank in the attic which is not conditioned. The following diagram is what im going to be basing my setup on except one pump, not...

    backyard garage compressor/airline setup

one more question, tried to ask on another thread but no response. so putting the 80 gallon "dry air storage tank" in the attic as i plan to, will it be an issue for when it gets hot in the summer? the attic has 2 vents in it but obviously it gets hotter up there then in the garage. thanks for...

Air compressor in garage attic - Not your typical compressor thread

resurrecting this.....so first off, great idea, one ive recently come up with as well. My question is, is heat an issue during the hotter summer months in terms of hot air in the tank vs. an air tank in a cooler environment like mine currently sits, in the garage and not in the hotter attic? I...
